Title: | As pedreiras de calcário de pataias análise litológica, estrutural e recursos geológicos | Authors: | Marques, Luís Manuel de Meneses | Orientador: | Duarte, Luís Vítor da Fonseca Pinto Pita, Fernando Antunes Gaspar |
Keywords: | Pedreiras de calcário; Jurássico Médio; georrecursos; Pataias; cartografia; Limestone quarries; Middle Jurassic; geological resources; Pataias; cartography | Issue Date: | Sep-2012 | Place of publication or event: | Coimbra | Abstract: | Esta dissertação incide o seu estudo sobre os recursos geológicos, sendo os
considerando as características litológicas, estratigráficas e estruturais, assentando
trabalhos. This dissertation focuses its study on geological resources, being the Middle Jurassic limestones of Pataias the center of this approach, using the observation in the two existing quarries in the area - Alva Pataias and Olhos de Água. The characteristics of the outcrops, with the specific local lithostratigraphic, the legal conditions for the operation and the historical surroundings are some of the aspects considered and approached on this dissertation. Initially, it was done the legal framework regulating geological resources, considering the evolution of portuguese legislation to the present date and considering the aspects for this type of resource and exploitation. At a later stage, a framework of the resource, the limestones, was made, considering the geological and historical aspects of the place, and taking into account the main uses of limestone - the production of lime and cement. Finally, an approach was made on the geological aspects of the quarries, considering the lithological, stratigraphic and structural characteristics, settling this stage on the published geological literature and collection of field data. The field data, with varied mapping, consolidate the bibliographic information collected and provide further data, particularly on the geological characteristics of the time period in question, by referencing the formations of Barranco Zambujal, Chão das Pias and Serra de Aire. Also the operation, particularly disassemble, was also considered to, since lithostratigraphy affects the works. Also the operation, particularly disassemble was considered in this dissertation, since the local lithostratigraphy significantly influences the execution of these works. |
