. The main objective of this revision is to evaluate the effect of adaptogenic supplements as a response to physical exercise. According to athletes’ demand, it was thought adequate to focus on the following supplements; Rhodiola rosea, Withania somnifera, Tribulus terrestri and Panax ginseng. For the purposes of having a complete study, it was evaluated both the hormonal and physiological response to these supplements during physical exercise. Thereafter, it was also revisited and analyzed studies that had a particular focus on hormonal levels during physical exercises after the intake of the already referred supplements. It was concluded that there aren´t enough studies to confirm whether these supplements have or don’t have an ergogenic effect in hormonal response to physical exercise. . |
