Contributos para a validação do BRIEF-2 (Behavior Rating Inventory Of Executive Function – Second Edition) para a população portuguesa: Estudo exploratório do acordo entre informadores

Abstract

Objetivo: A presente dissertação consiste num estudo exploratório do acordo entre informadores, inserido no projeto de validação e normalização do BRIEF-2 (Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Functions – Second Edition) para a população Portuguesa. Pretendeu-se, assim, determinar o grau de acordo entre as três versões do BRIEF-2 (Autorresposta, Pais e Professores) em relação ao funcionamento executivo de jovens com idades dos 6 aos 18 anos. Método: A amostra deste estudo foi de 187 pais e 187 jovens (autorresposta) e de 71 pais, professores e jovens. Resultados: As análises realizadas demonstraram proximidade entre as avaliações dos pais e dos jovens (autorresposta), sendo que apenas na amostra de 187 sujeitos se registaram correlações significativas fracas a moderadas; verificou-se, também, um acordo moderado entre pais e professores; quanto aos resultados das versões de professores e de autorresposta, estes apresentaram-se desiguais e não se verificou nenhuma correlação significativa. Conclusão: À exceção das versões de professores e autorresposta, os dados recolhidos são concordantes com a literatura existente.

Objective: This dissertation consists of an exploratory study of the agreement between informants, inserted in the BRIEF-2 (Behaviour Rating Inventory of Executive Functions - Second Edition) validation and standardisation project for the Portuguese population. Thus, the intention was to determine the level of agreement between the three versions of BRIEF-2 (Self-Report, Parents and Teachers) with regard to the executive functioning of subjects with ages ranging from 6 to 18. Method: The sample analysed in this study was 187 parents and 187 self-report and 71 parents, teachers and self-report. Results: The analysis made showed a proximity between the evaluations of parents and subjects (self-report), and only in the sample of 187 subjects were there significant weak to moderate correlations; there was also a moderate agreement between parents and teachers; as for the results of the versions of teachers and self-report, these were unequal and there was no significant correlation. Conclusion: With the exception of the teachers' and the self-report versions, the collected data is in agreement with the existing literature. . .
