O programa azulejar do Palácio do Correio-Mor, em Loures

Abstract

A pesquisa que se segue insere-se no âmbito das Artes Decorativas e tem como tema central a Azulejaria do século XVIII, instituído numa habitação classificada como obtentora de uma arquitectura civil, sendo um palácio pertencente a uma família nobre. Existindo alguns ensaios feitos sobre a esta habitação e ao seu conteúdo artístico, facto é que até à data não existia - e com a excepção da separata escrita por Matilde Pessoa de Figueiredo Tamagnini, em 1977 - um estudo onde reunisse e unisse os factos históricos e artísticos sobre o mesmo. Sendo este palácio um bem patrimonial ainda um pouco incógnito, muito há ainda para estudar, pesquisar e publicar sobre este soberbo palácio. O tema desta monografia, que aborda a azulejaria, é um tema que suscitou e continua a suscitar várias análises e aqui iremos encontrar uma forma leve e distinta de abordar a matéria. Assim, o propósito desta investigação sobre o Palácio do Correio-Mor, de Loures e a sua azulejaria, compromete-se com o teor artístico nele presente e o revelar do gosto pela decoração de uma família brasonada em relação ao mesmo. Este monumento foi reconhecido como Imóvel de Interesse Público e encontra-se na freguesia de Loures, pertencente ao concelho de Loures, fazendo parte do distrito de Lisboa.

The research that follows falls within the decorative arts and is focused on the tiles of the eighteenth century, set in a house classified as a breeder of civil architecture, and a palace belonging to a noble family. There are some tests done on this house and its artistic content, the fact is that to date does not exist - and with the exception offprint written by Matilde de Figueiredo Tamagnini person in 1977 - a study which meet and unite the historical facts and artistic about it. This palace is a heritage property still somewhat unknown, there is still much to study, research and publish on this superb palace. The theme of this monograph, which deals with tiles, is a theme that inspired and continues to raise several tests and here we find a way to address different light and matter. Thus, the purpose of this research on the Palácio do Correio-Mor, Loures and its tiles, committed to the artistic content and present it to reveal a taste for decoration of a family emblazoned on the same. This monument, which was recognized as Public Interest Monument, through Decree No. 47 508, DG No. 20 of 24.01.1967, is in the parish of Loures, which belongs to the municipality of Loures, the district of Lisbon.
