Título: | DEVELOPMENT OF A CLOUD-BASED APPLICATION FOR THE NEXUS HAULIER CAPACITY MATCHING | Outros títulos: | DEVELOPMENT OF A CLOUD-BASED APPLICATION FOR THE NEXUS HAULIER CAPACITY MATCHING | Autor: | Silva, Edgar Soares da | Orientador: | Araújo, Filipe João Boavida Mendonça Machado de Macedo, Luís Miguel Machado Lopes |
The document outlines the goals and objectives of a curricular internship pro-gram that is part of the NEXUS project’s Work Package 2 (WP2). The main focusof WP2 is to create specialized multimodal network and logistics applications byutilizing high-quality data for the development of Big Data Analytics and Artifi-cial Intelligence Solutions. The internship aims to create a cloud-based backendsolution to optimize the capacity matching of hauliers. The solution will be a partof a platform that manages the matching process by allowing transport operatorsto register all of the necessary components, which will be used in conjunctionwith data received from the control tower by Artificial Intelligence to suggest thebest route and haulier for container deliveries. The objective is to reduce ineffi-ciencies in the utilization of haulier resources and achieve significant cost savingsfor hauliers while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In summary, the internship will yield a system that prototypes a resolution for the WP2.2 issue within the NEXUS project. This system will be pertinent to other stakeholders involved in the project, particularly the company, Marlo. Its purpose will be to identify any deficiencies in the solution and use them as a foundation for further development. The document outlines the goals and objectives of a curricular internship pro-gram that is part of the NEXUS project’s Work Package 2 (WP2).
