As Invasões Francesas no Ensino da História: Espaço, Discurso e Objeto.

Abstract

O relatório que aqui apresentamos é o resultado da investigação realizada no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de História no 3º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e Secundário, na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, no contexto da realização de estágio pedagógico.Tendo como tema de trabalho a questão das Invasões Francesas, procedemos à sua análise nos manuais portugueses produzidos entre os inícios do século XX e a atualidade, centrando a nossa pesquisa naqueles pertencente ao ensino liceal e secundário. De igual forma, no contexto da prática docente, procurámos explorar as potencialidades que o tema apresenta para o processo de ensino-aprendizagemO primeiro momento do presente relatório diz diretamente respeito à Prática de Ensino Supervisionada, consubstanciando-se numa breve descrição das turmas às quais tivemos oportunidade de lecionar, bem como da apresentação das principais atividades, tanto curriculares como extracurriculares, em relação às quais tivemos a oportunidade de participar. Num segundo momento, procedemos à definição, em sentido lato, do nosso objeto de estudo: a figura do manual escolar centrando, de forma gradual, a nossa atenção no processo evolutivo dos manuais de História portugueses, numa cronologia situada entre os inícios do séc. XX até à atualidade, realizando a mesma análise em paralelo com as evoluções políticas que, no período em estudo, se operaram em Portugal. O terceiro momento remete para a análise, em termos quantitativos e qualitativos, das abordagens e perspetivas, referentes às Invasões Francesas, que figuraram, e figuram, nos manuais portugueses de História. Para o efeito, procedeu-se à recolha e análise de vinte e quatro exemplares, cujos dados são, posteriormente, apresentados. O último momento respeita à realização do projeto didático-pedagógico. Tendo como tema de trabalho o tema das Invasões Francesas, centrou-se a metodologia em torno da História Local.Com a realização do estudo que aqui se apresenta pretendemos elencar uma síntese da principal bibliografia referente ao estudo da manualística em Portugal, bem como dos eventos históricos aos quais nos propusemos a estudar. De igual forma, pretendemos demonstrar como a mesma temática é passível de ser lecionada no contexto de sala de aula, tendo atenção aos critérios didático-pedagógicos, mas também científicos.

The report that we hereby present, it is the final result of the research that we began in the context of the Master’s Degree in Teaching History, in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra, during the time of our teaching internship. Having the Napoleonic Wars as our main topic of research, we proceeded to analyse how several Portuguese History schoolbooks presented them, in a timespan between the beginning of the 20th century and the present time, focusing our research on those that concerned the former and present Portuguese high school levels. Concurrently, regarding our teaching experience, we sought to explore the potential that such a theme provides in the teaching-learning process. The first chapter of our report concerns our Teaching Experience, by means of a short description of the several classes that we had the opportunity to teach, as well as a brief presentation of the different educational activities that we partook in. The second chapter was written as an introduction to our main research subject: the schoolbook, focusing our attention, in a progressive way, in its evolutionary process, in a chronology between the advent of the 2’th century and the present days. In tandem, we aimed to complement that research with one regarding the succession of the different political regimes that ruled over Portugal in said timespan. The third chapter concerns the analysis of twenty-four Portuguese History high school-level schoolbooks, regarding the different approaches concerning the Napoleonic Wars and its effects in Portuguese soil. The fourth and final chapter is tied up to our didactic and pedagogic project, concerning the Napoleonic Invasions at a Local perspective.With the report that we hereby present, we aimed to elaborate a summary of the main bibliographical studies concerning the research regarding the History Schoolbook, as well as the historical events that we committed to explore. In an analogous way, it was also our intent to demonstrate how such a theme could be possible to teach with regards to the due didactic and pedagogical as well as the scientific criteria.
