Towards a post-Westphalian internationalism

Abstract

150 years after the publication of Marx & Engels’ Manifesto of the Communist Party was published, Pureza takes a look at the shortcomings and disunities that have emerged in the internationalist legacy it stands for. He argues that its emancipatory potential has been diluted withing the wider process of subordination of the community principle to state and market principles. The modern world system, consolidated thus, has come to rest on two solitary pillars of faith: the world economy and the interstate system.
