O AUDIOVISUAL COMO RECURSO ESTRATÉGICO-MOTIVACIONAL NA APRENDIZAGEM DE ESPANHOL COMO LÍNGUA NÃO MATERNA

Abstract

Este relatório insere-se no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de Português e de Língua Estrangeira no 3.º ciclo do Ensino Básico e no Ensino Secundário, na área de especialização de Espanhol. O seu intuito primordial é o de provocar uma reflexão sobre a incitação à motivação num grupo de alunos do 10.º ano do ensino secundário - nível de continuação, equivalente ao nível de proficiência B1 – recorrendo, essencialmente, ao uso do audiovisual. O recurso ao som e/ou à imagem, como estratégia de motivação, poderia ter sido pensado com o propósito de alterar o que chamaríamos de uma postura standard da maioria dos aprendentes deste nível que, muitas vezes, apresentam uma atitude mais displicente face à aprendizagem de uma Língua Estrangeira II (LEII). No entanto, o perfil de baixos níveis motivacionais detetado, na maioria dos alunos da turma atribuída para a realização das práticas pedagógicas, obrigou-nos, não só a olhar para o audiovisual com mais afinco e determinação, como também a investigar todo o vasto repertório de estratégias disponibilizadas na literatura sobre o tema. Ambicionava-se, assim, poder, posteriormente, selecionar aquela que, efetivamente, se afigurou ser a mais indicada e profícua no estímulo da aprendizagem dos nossos estudantes. A motivação incutida nos alunos, com recurso ao audiovisual, surtiu o efeito desejado, levando-os a um envolvimento mais ativo e a um maior desenvolvimento e proveito nas aprendizagens, confirmando-se isso mesmo na avaliação final, com a melhoria, generalizada, dos resultados na disciplina de Espanhol/LE.Este foi pois, primeira e essencialmente, um trabalho pensado e desenvolvido para uma turma específica, o grupo de alunos da turma B do 10.º ano, na Escola Secundária Fernão de Magalhães, em Chaves, no ano letivo de 2013/2014, mas que, entrementes, esperamos que possa ser útil a outros discentes e a outros profissionais do ramo educacional.

This report is part of the Master's Degree in Portuguese and Foreign Language Teaching in the 3rd cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education, in the specialization area of Spanish. Its main purpose is to provoke a reflection on the motivation to encourage a group of students in the 10th year of secondary education - continuation level, equivalent to the level of proficiency B1 - essentially resorting to the use of audiovisual. The use of sound and/or image as a motivation strategy could have been designed with the purpose of changing what we would call a standard posture of most learners at this level, who often have a more casual attitude towards learning of a Foreign Language II (LEII). However, the profile of low motivational levels detected in most students in the class assigned to carry out pedagogical practices, made us not only look at the audiovisual with more effort and determination but also to investigate the entire vast repertoire of strategies available in the literature about the subject. The ambition was, therefore, to be able to later on select the strategy that effectively became the most suitable and fruitful in stimulating the learning of the students. The motivation instilled in the students, using the audiovisual, had the desired effect, leading them to a more active involvement and greater development and benefit in learning, confirming this in the final assessment, with the generalized improvement of the results in the Spanish/LE subject. This was therefore, first and foremost, a work thought out and developed for a specific class, the group of students from the 10th grade B class, at Escola Secundária Fernão de Magalhães, in Chaves, in the 2013/2014 school year, but which, in the meantime, we hope it can be useful to other students and other professionals in the educational field.
