Planos Gerontológicos: Construção de um guia orientador.

Abstract

No contexto atual, em que o envelhecimento demográfico revela desafios acrescidos para a sociedade, a compreensão deste fenómeno, assim como o modo como decorre nos diferentes territórios, poderá favorecer a intervenção que é efetuada nos mesmos. Neste contexto, várias têm sido as intervenções municipais que procuram potenciar o envelhecimento ativo e a manutenção das pessoas idosas na sua comunidade. Embora estas práticas assumam diversas nomenclaturas, áreas de intervenção e formas como se apresentam, recentemente têm vindo a existir Planos Gerontológicos em vários municípios. A heterogeneidade de modos de intervenção é gerada pela escassez de diretrizes políticas concedidas ao poder local, relativas à sua intervenção com a população mais velha. Estas políticas implicam a consideração das especificidades do território e das pessoas que nele residem, perspetivando intervenções integradas de cariz gerontológico para o Concelho a que se destinam. Através do contacto com os modelos teóricos de envelhecimento, práticas de Planos Gerontológicos e de outros projetos que se poderão enquadrar no âmbito destes planos e que se considerem como preponderantes para o desenvolvimento de intervenções sob a forma de plano, pretende-se desenvolver um guia orientador para os Planos Gerontológicos. Este guia pretende colmatar a lacuna existente pelo estruturar do método como se efetuam estas práticas. Deste modo, pretende-se que o presente guião estruturante tenha a finalidade de orientar, não sendo a sua utilização obrigatória.

In the current context, in which demographic aging reveals additional challenges for society, understanding this phenomenon, as well as how it takes place in different territories, can favor the intervention that is carried out in them. In this context, there have been several municipal interventions that seek to enhance active and the maintenance of the elderly in their community. Although these practices take on different names, areas of intervention and forms in which they are presented, recently there have been Gerontological Plans in various municipalities. The heterogeneity of the modes of intervention is generated by the scarcity of political guidelines granted to the local government, related to its intervention with the elderly population. These policies imply the consideration of the specifities of the territory and of the people who live there, with a view to integrated interventions of a gerontological nature for the municipality to which they are intended. Through contact with the theoretical models of aging, practices of Gerontological Plans and other projects that may fall within the scope of these plans and that are considered important for the development of interventions in the form of a plan, the aim is to develop a guiding guide for the Gerontological Plans. This guide intends to fill the existing gap by structuring the method as these practices are carried out. Thus, it is intended that this structuring guide has the purpose of guiding, and its use is not manda-tory.
