Faultlines: Uma revisão bibliométrica

Abstract

A presente revisão bibliométrica teve como objetivo caracterizar o estado da arte acerca da investigação sobre Faultlines no período compreendido entre 1998 e 2020. Para tal, foram recolhidos os trabalhos considerados mais significativos através de uma "keyword search" na base de dados Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) e Emerging Souces Citation Index (ESCI) - inseridas na Web of Science (WoS). Nesta fase, procedeu-se à identificação das revistas e dos autores mais ativos, bem como dos domínioscientíficos e afiliações das publicações. Em seguida, recorrendo à técnica Visualisation of Similarities (VOS), através da utilização do software VOSviewer foram, também, analisados dois mapas bibliométricos - acoplamento bibliográfico e co-ocorrência de keywords. Estes mapas, analisados em conjunto, permitem obter uma perspetiva do campo de estudo das faultlines, identificando possíveis correntes de literatura e tópicos que caracterizam as publicações recolhidas. Os resultados obtidos confirmam um crescimento exponencial do tópico ao longo das últimas décadas e permitiram identificar as linhas de investigação e os tópicos que caracterizam as publicações recolhidas, bem como situar o construto em análise no estádio de desenvolvimento Avaliação e Aumento, de acordo com a tipologia de Reichers e Schneider (1990). Tendo em consideração os resultados obtidos, podemos inferir que o construto se encontra no segundo estádio de desenvolvimento, ou seja, na etapa de Avaliação e Aumento. Por fim, são apresentadas as vantagens e limitações da metodologia utilizada, bem como sugestões para investigações futuras.

The present bibliometric review aimed to characterize the state of the art of research on Faultlines between 1998 and 2020. To this end, the most significant works were collected through a keyword search in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and Emerging Souces Citation Index (ESCI) databases - part of the Web of Science (WoS). In this phase, the most active journals and authors were identified, as well as the scientific domains and affiliations of the publications. Then, using the Visualisation of Similarities (VOS) technique, with the VOSviewer software, two bibliometric maps were also analyzed - bibliographic coupling and co-occurrence of keywords. These maps, analyzed together, provide an overview of the field of study of faultlines, identifying possible literature streams and topics that characterize the collected publications. The results obtained confirm an exponential growth of the topic over the last two decades and allowed us to identify the lines of research and the topics that characterize the collected publications, as well as to situate the construct under analysis in the stage of development Evaluation and Increase, according to the typology of Reichers and Schneider (1990). Taking into account the results obtained, we can infer that the construct is in the second stage of development, that is, the Evaluation and Augmentation stage. Finally, the advantages and limitations of the methodology used are presented, as well as suggestions for future research.
