Parque urbano e anfiteatro ao ar livre: Reinventar S. Pedro de Moel como lugar de cultura em ambiente natural

Abstract

Esta dissertação de mestrado ocorre no âmbito do Mestrado Integrado em Arquitetura do Departamento de Arquitetura da Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias da Universidade de Coimbra, proposto para o ano letivo 2019-2020. Veio no seguimento de um convite por parte da Associação dos Amigos de S. Pedro de Moel, apelidada, também, de Liga dos Amigos de S. Pedro, ao Departamento de Arquitetura e recebido pela cadeira de Atelier de Projeto II C. S. Pedro de Moel é um território particular de grande sensibilidade ambiental e com bastante potencial ao nível urbano e paisagístico. Assim, esta proposta visa problematizar o seu desenho urbano, repensando soluções alternativas para o seu modelo de organização espacial e, ao mesmo tempo, valorizando a zona para a renovar como o destino balnear e turístico que outrora foi e que agora se manifesta cada vez mais sazonalmente; assim, visa também o combate a essa extrema sazonalidade que, atualmente, afeta não só a economia da região como também a qualidade de vida da comunidade que lá habita. Pretende-se, como resultado final, uma reinvenção futura com especial atenção em objetivos específicos, como: a fixação de equipamentos que ofereçam espaços de qualidade a atividades praticáveis ao longo de todo o ano, o aumento do número de residentes permanentes, o enriquecimento do património e a melhoria geral do modo de vida. Num modo abreviado e geral: colocar o território de S. Pedro de Moel no mapa, numa rede de visibilidade mais alargada tanto a nível local, nacional ou até mesmo internacional. No seguimento de um dos objetivos já referidos (a fixação de equipamentos que ofereçam espaços de qualidade a atividades praticáveis ao longo de todo o ano), o meu projeto resume-se ao tratamento de um espaço verde urbano, o Vale do Ribeiro “Ôlho”, transformando-o num lugar qualificado com infraestruturas e equipamentos de um anfiteatro ao ar livre com condições de receber eventos e espetáculos de variadas áreas ao longo de todo o ano.

This master thesis occurs within the scope of the Master’s in Architecture of the Architecture Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra, suggested for the 2019-2020 school year. It came following an invitation from the Association of Friends of S. Pedro de Moel, nicknamed, also, as League of Friends of S. Pedro, to the Architecture Department and received by the subject of Atelier de Projeto II C. S. Pedro de Moel is a particular territory of major environmental sensibility and with great potential at the urban and landscape level. Thus, this proposal aims to problematize its urban design, rethinking alternative solutions for its model of spatial organization and, at the same time, valuing the region to renovate it as a bathing and tourist destination that once was and that now manifest more and more seasonally; thus, also aims the fight against the extreme seasonality that, currently, affects not only the region’s economy but also the quality of the resident community’s life. It is intended, as final result, a future reinvention with special attention in specific goals, such as: the setting of equipment that offers quality spaces to practicable activities throughout the year, the number increase of the permanent residents, the enrichment of the patrimony and the general improvement of the lifestyle. In an abbreviated and general way: place the territory of S. Pedro de Moel in the map, in a wider visibility network at a local, national or even international level. Following one of the objectives already mentioned (the setting of equipment that offers quality spaces to practicable activities throughout the year), my project is all about the treatment of a green urban space, Vale do Ribeiro “Ôlho”, turning it into a qualified place with infrastructures and equipment of an outdoor amphitheater with conditions to receive events and spectacles of various areas throughout the year.
