This document, which closes the last stage of my journey along these years in the Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences, is organized in two chapters. A first chapter referring to the report of the Curricular Intership carried out at the Farmácia Cruz Viegas, in Coimbra, and a second one related to the monograph entitled "Prevention and Treatment of Meningitis in Portugal". Thus, in the first chapter, the various activities carried out during the internship in community pharmacy are presented, through a SWOT analysisIn the second chapter, we find the monograph that develops the theme Meningitis in Portugal, addressing its prevention and treatment. The Invasive Meningococcal Disease (DIM)is the leading cause of meningitis worldwide and persists as a serious public health problem. Although we know better and better the behavior of the bacteria Neisseria meningitidis, its predominant etiological agent, there is still a way to go. Integrated epidemiological surveillance is one of the most important bases to support decision making in the prevention and control of this disease. Currently, there are seven vaccines marketed in Portugal, with the meningites C vaccine, Meningitec®, already part of the National Vaccination Program (PNV),and, in october this year, the meningitis B vaccine, Bexsero®, will also integrate it, allowing coverage of two significant serogroups: C and B. However, it will be necessary to develop new vaccines and adopt new accessibility and availability policies.
