Disfunções sexuais femininas

Abstract

A sexualidade humana continua a ser um tema cercado por desconhecimento e tabus, que frequentemente estão envolvidos na génese das disfunções sexuais. A Disfunção Sexual Feminina é multifatorial e traduz-se por uma alteração em qualquer uma das fases do ciclo de resposta sexual da mulher (desejo, excitação, orgasmo) ou ainda por perturbações dolorosas associadas ao ato sexual. A Disfunção Sexual Feminina tem alta prevalência entre as mulheres. No entanto, os profissionais de saúde raramente avaliam a vida sexual dos utentes, pois sentem-se desconfortáveis em abordar o tema sexualidade ou porque desconhecem as técnicas de diagnóstico. Com esta monografia pretende-se realçar a importância do conhecimento da sexualidade feminina e abordar as necessidades sentidas pelas mulheres em encontrar respostas às suas dificuldades sexuais. Posteriormente serão apresentados alguns modelos de resposta sexual feminina, a classificação das disfunções sexuais, prevalência, sintomatologia, diagnóstico e terapêutica.

Human sexuality remains a subject enclosed by ignorance and taboos, which are frequently involved in the origin of the sexual dysfunctions. The Female Sexual Dysfunction is multifactorial and is manifested either as an alteration in any of the phases of the cycle of female sexual response (desire, excitement, orgasm) or in painful perturbations associated to sexual intercourse. The Female Sexual Dysfunctions have high predominance among women. However, health professionals rarely evaluate the sex life of their patients, because of feeling uncomfortable in addressing their sexuality, or because of lack of knowledge concerning diagnosis techniques. This monograph intends to highlight the importance of understanding female sexuality and addressing the needs felt by women in finding answers to their difficulties. Additionally, different models of female sexual response, classification of female sexual dysfunctions, predominance, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapeutics are all presented.
