A Gestão, Produção e Sustentabilidade das Organizações Culturais

Abstract

Com este relatório de estágio pretende-se abordar as políticas culturais em Portugal Continental, e de que forma as mesmas influenciam de forma negativa e positiva a sustentabilidade das organizações culturais, como estudado no caso prático da “Jangada Teatro”. Percebe-se que durante muitos anos, os dirigentes culturais prendem-se na luta pela universalidade e democratização no acesso aos bens culturais, defesa do património e da identidade cultural e o estímulo à criação artística. Não é uma tarefa fácil, visto que os interesses do Estado e das suas organizações ainda divergem dos interesses dos gestores e artistas. A rentabilidade dos sectores ainda é o ponto mais relevante para a cedência de apoios.Analisaram-se ainda dois casos práticos, o da companhia de teatro à qual realizei uma entrevista “A Escola da Noite” e o espaço e companhia onde realizei o meu estágio curricular, o Auditório Municipal de Lousada e a “Jangada Teatro”. Assistimos a dois casos, o primeiro de insucesso nas suas políticas de gestão, levando a uma gerência não sustentável, colocando em risco o término de actividade. O segundo caso, o qual pude observar em primeira mão, segue quase o ideal de boa gestão cultural. Tornou-se um marco reconhecido no mundo do teatro independentemente da localização descentralizada, une-se com a autarquia no enaltecimento da vertente cultural do município e representa o ideal de uma cooperativa, cooperação de um grupo de pessoas em função de um objectivo. A problemática da sustentabilidade assombra também a “Jangada Teatro”, permitindo-me assim colocar em prática algumas estratégias que me eram possíveis como estagiário, visando melhorias na situação da companhia. Pretende-se dessa forma, ao longo deste relatório elaborar e fundamentar um grupo de estratégias e necessidades que visem a melhoria das políticas culturais que futuramente possam ser aplicadas de forma não evasiva, garantindo a sustentabilidade das organizações de cultura.

With this internship report we intend to address cultural policies in mainland Portugal, and how they influence the sustainability of cultural organizations in a negative and positive way. We realize that for many years, cultural leaders are engaged in the struggle for universality and democratization in access to cultural assets, defense of cultural heritage and identity, and encouragement of artistic creation. If this were not an easy battle, the interests of the state and its organizations still differ greatly from the minimum demand of managers and artists, as they vary according to the profitability of the sectors. We also analyzed two practical cases, the Theater Company to which I conducted an interview "A Escola da Noite" and the space and company where I completed my curricular internship, the Municipal Auditorium of Lousada and the "Jangada Teatro". We witnessed two cases, the first one of failure in its management policies, leading to unsustainable management, putting at risk the end of activity. The second case, which I was able to observe firsthand, follows almost the ideal of good cultural management. It has become a recognized landmark in the world of theater regardless of the decentralized location; unites with the municipality in order to enhance the cultural aspect of the municipality and represents the ideal of a cooperative, cooperation of a group of people in function of an objective. The problem of sustainability also haunts the "Jangada Teatro", allowing me to put into practice some strategies that were allowed me as a trainee, aiming at improvements in the company's situation. Through this report we intend to elaborate and support a group of strategies and needs aimed at improving cultural policies that can be applied in a non-evasive way, guaranteeing the sustainability of cultural organizations.
