Relatório de Estágio (Mestrado em Análises Clínicas)

Abstract

Neste relatório são descritas as atividades realizadas durante os 6 meses de estágio curricular no âmbito do Mestrado em Análises Clínicas, da Faculdade de Farmácia daUniversidade de Coimbra (FFUC).Este estágio teve lugar no laboratório Centro de Medicina Laboratorial Germano de Sousa (CMLGS-Porto) inserido no Hospital CUF na cidade do Porto. Existem dados que remontam a 4000 a.C sobre a utilização de testes em amostras deurina, sendo provavelmente o ícone que marca o início da criação e evolução das análisesclínicas. Atualmente o papel destes métodos de diagnóstico encontra-se totalmenterevolucionado, existindo inúmeras áreas e cada vez mais específicas desde a hematologia emicrobiologia à toxicologia clínica, havendo também todo um conjunto de produtos biológicosque podem ser estudados (urina, sangue, fezes, fragmentos de tecido, cateteres, válvulascardíacas, entre muitos outros).Com este estágio tive a oportunidade de me integrar e vivenciar a rotina de funcionamento de um laboratório de análises clínicas, tendo a oportunidade de adquirir experiência na execução de diferentes técnicas nas áreas de Bioquímica, Microbiologia, Imunologia e Hematologia bem como consegui aprofundar e consolidar todas as minhas bases teóricas ao presenciar a avaliação e interpretação de resultados. Tive ainda a oportunidade de aprender e observar na prática as estratégias para a gestão da qualidade de um laboratório. Com este relatório pretendo fazer uma descrição genérica do funcionamento das quatro áreas, debruçando-me essencialmente na Microbiologia e Imunologia, valências escolhidas previamente ao início do estágio.

This report, describes the activities undertaken under the period of 6 months during the internship for Master in Clinical Analysis, from Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Coimbra (FFUC). This internship was done at Centro de Medicina Laboratorial Germano de Sousa (CMLGS) laboratory that is located at CUF Hospital in the city of Oporto.There is data dating back to 4000 BC on the use of tests on samples of probably the icon that marks the beginning of the creation and evolution of clinical analysis. Currently the role of these diagnostic methods is totally revolutionized, there are numerous and increasingly specific areas since hematology and microbiology to clinical toxicology, and there is also a whole set of biological products that can be studied (urine, blood, feces, tissue fragments, catheters, valvesamong many others).With this internship I had the opportunity to work alongside the laboratory professionals and experience the day to day work of a clinical analysis laboratory, where I acquired the experience at executing different type of techniques related to Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology and Haematology as well as deepened and consolidate all my acquired theoretical knowledge by assisting with the evaluation and interpretation of results. Alongside all the described tasks I also had the opportunity to learn and observe in practice the strategies to ensure proper quality management of a clinical analysis laboratory. With this report I intend to present a generic description of the functioning of fourareas, while focusing mostly on Microbiology and Immunology, which were the selected subjects prior to the beginning of the internship.
