Sustentabilidade Hoteleira no Município de Anadia

Abstract

O desenvolvimento sustentável é um dos grandes desafios do século XXI. O turismo podeser um potenciador da sustentabilidade social, económica e ambiental, pois este envolvevários setores económicos que interagem diretamente com a população nas suas atividades.O turismo sustentável é, assim, uma meta, um objetivo a atingir e manter a longo prazo. Asunidades hoteleiras podem ter um papel importante na diminuição dos impactes negativosdo turismo e na promoção do turismo sustentável através, por exemplo, da utilizaçãoequilibrada das fontes de energia e de água. A certificação de sustentabilidade, ou ecolabels,no turismo é uma forma dar a conhecer e autentificar atividades turísticas “eco-friendly”.Este trabalho trata de três ecolabels aplicadas Portugal: Green key, Green Project Awards eEco Hotel TÜV.Este estudo pretende perceber se a preocupação com sustentabilidade da atividade turísticaconstitui uma das preocupações dos alojamentos do município de Anadia. Analisam-se,assim, três dos principais hotéis do concelho, procurando caracterizar-se e compreender assuas práticas e atividades. O principal o objetivo é perceber se os hotéis estudadospromovem práticas sustentáveis.A metodologia utilizada foi um inquérito por entrevista aos responsáveis dos três hotéisestudados. O guião da entrevista é baseado nos regulamentos das três ecolabels estudadas.Na sequência desta investigação, foi possível perceber que os hotéis estudados nãopromovem práticas e atividades suficientes para obter uma “ecolabel”. Apesar disso, oshotéis em questão promovem algumas medidas para poupar recursos como por exemplo aágua, tendo um importante impacte social e económico na comunidade de Anadia. Emfunção dos resultados desta investigação, foi também possível sugerir métodos maissustentáveis a implementar nos hotéis estudados

Sustainable development is one of the great challenges of the 21st century. Tourism can bean enhancer of social, economic and environmental sustainability, since it involves severaleconomic sectors that interact directly with the population in its activities. Sustainabletourism is thus a goal, a goal to be achieved and maintained over the long term. Hotels canplay an important role in reducing the negative impacts of tourism and in promotingsustainable tourism through, for example, the balanced use of energy and water sources.Certification of sustainability, or ecolabels, in tourism is a way to make known andauthenticate tourist activities "eco-friendly". This work deals with three ecolabels appliedPortugal: Green key, Green Project Awards and Eco Hotel TÜV.This study intends to understand if the concern with sustainability of the tourist activity isone of the concerns of the accommodation of the municipality of Anadia. Three of the mainhotels of the county are analyzed, seeking to characterize themselves and to understandtheir practices and activities. The main goal is to see if the hotels studied promotesustainable practices.The methodology used was an interview survey of the three hotels studied. The script ofthe interview is based on the regulations of the three ecolabels studied. Following thisinvestigation, it was possible to notice that the hotels studied do not promote enoughpractices and activities to obtain an ecolabel. Despite this, the hotels in question promotesome measures to save resources such as water, having a significant social and economicimpact in the community of Anadia. Based on the results of this research, it was alsopossible to suggest more sustainable methods to be implemented in the studied hotels
