Abstract: In a world which is increasingly politicized and with louder and more public opinions, it’s important for brands to be in tune with the new and emerging consumer needs. In this way, the following study becomes relevant in the current economic and social frames. The present paper has as an objetive to relate the concept of cause-related marketing (CRM) and corporate social responsibility with the altruistic perception of them by the Millennials. CRM can be explained when a company embraces a specific cause and makes it part of their brand identity, which means that consumers feel that they are not only supporting a company, but also supporting a cause. The challenge that brands face is that CRM is seen in an altruistic way by consumers, and not just in a oportunistic manner with egoistic motivations. A quantitative research was used to measure the antecedents (background) and consequents of the perceived altruism in CRM. The quantitative research used as an instrument a questionnaire based on the brand Natura, which embraces an environmental and social cause in their Linha Ekos’s products, and in its brand identity. The following data was statistically analyzed in the software IBM SPSS AMOS 25 and based on the Structual Equation Model (SEM). The results identified that brand-cause fit and trust in CRM campaign influenced positively in the perceived CRM altruism, and that, as consequence, positively influences in the consumer cause identification, corporate image and purchase intention. The conclusion we can take from this study contribute that literature that seeks to understand the Millennial perception and adds to marketing literature when it puts altruistic motivation at the center of the study in the CRM context.
