O Nordeste alentejano ao tempo dos Romanos – Balanço e perspectivas da investigação

Abstract

A study of Roman occupation in the north-east of the Portuguese country named Alentejo (Conventus Pacensis, Lusitania) has been to the present time parcelled, fragmentary and incomplete. The plants of their very rich villae are almost unknown, their furniture nearly studied; the analysis of Roman necropolis is just beginning, with surprising results; the complete regional net of roads is still locally indefinite. This report presents a view of studies already done and points the future research perspectives.
