Since the establishment of the pharmacist as a profession that it has been regarded as the reference as far as the preparation and dispensing of medicines go. Even though the revolution in the pharmaceutical industry has removed much of the medicine preparation component from the officinal pharmacies, we have been witnessing a resurfacing of the art of compounding, in small and medium scale, with the purpose of providing a more adequate therapy to individual patients. That wouldn´t otherwise be available in the market. This project aims to measure the perception of the Portuguese population, in particular the clientele of Farmácia Lusitana from Vila do Conde, about the values granted by this kind of medicines, what are the ways that take them to have contact with these and to what therapeutical purpose they are procured, as well as to draw a comparative pattern between individualized medicines and industrialized ones. The method used was the filling of a survey as an instrument of data collection from a representative sample of the population made up by the non-minor clients of Farmácia Lusitana, between the months of May and June. The information was posteriorly statistically treated and the results were presented in the forms of graphics and tables, being its meaning discussed in the end and some conclusions and suggestion elaborated about the subject, lining up the possible likenesses with other studies reviewed. |
