To fulfill the purpose for which it was designed, any structure in Civil Engineer must have an appropriate level of safety, functionality and durability. Reinforced Concrete Structures are a particular case mostly used. On the one hand, a greater knowledge about materials has led to a decrease of the safety coefficients. On the other hand, the higher length of the structure’s spans, led to the construction of slimmer and more flexible structures. In this context, the reduction of safety limits, the Ultimate Limit States ULS and Service Limit States SLS verifications are assumed as critical. For this purpose, it is essential to have knowledge on the structural behavior. In the framework of this work, the aim is to numerically evaluate, under ULS and SLS, the strength and deformations in reinforced concrete beams, axially restrained and subjected to bending. It is important to know the level of the maximum strength capacity, but also the crack and yield stiffness. The objective is to improve the analysis of this type of structures. These studies were carried out by using a nonlinear computational algorithm for the analysis. This algorithm had a few limitations, which had to be removed. Most of the changes were related to the prestressing cables, namely their real configuration and the way they behave. In this context, the theoretical results predicted by the nonlinear analysis programs, such as the ANL initial and final program, were compared with the experimental results achieved by other authors. This was done in order to ascertain the effectiveness of the programs. Once the theoretical and experimental results were obtained, a comparative analyses based on P-d loaddisplacement curves were carried out.
