On the ricoeurian projet os a Hermeneutics of Space

Abstract

In an interesting footnote in the second part of "Memory, History, Forgetting", as Ricoeur analyses the possibilities and limits of a "phenomenology of space", an important detail has captured our attention: the reference to the possobility of transferring to an architectural plan of analysis the elements of the triple mimesis developed in "Time and Narrative". This chapter aims to meditateon the sense and philosophical implications of that very interesting possibility, as it gives us a new point of view on the relations between space, materiality, memory, history and identity.
