Alojamento turístico low cost na cidade do Porto: hostels

Abstract

O turismo está em constante evolução, aparecendo novas tendências geradoras de novos conceitos, resultado das motivações dos turistas. Os jovens procuram produtos turísticos a preços acessíveis para poderem viajar. Dentro destas novas tendências emancipam-se conceitos, que anteriormente, ainda não estavam em tão grande utilização no nosso país. As motivações e o rendimento do turista ditam o caminho do turismo low cost. Portugal vive uma viragem do turismo, isto devido, em grande parte, ao conceito low cost. O turismo low cost é um segmento com força suficiente para desenvolver, recuperar recursos específicos e espaços recriando-os em produtos turísticos. O alojamento turístico aproveitando-se disso pode também crescer. Aliando a atratividade do preço cobrado, os hostels utilizam edifícios históricos ou de idade avançada, reaproveitando e dando uma nova vida à malha urbana e a edifícios, que, outrora tiveram outro significado e função. A cidade do Porto é um bom exemplo de boas práticas no turismo low cost, podendo suscitar grandes desenvolvimentos a nível turístico como a nível local.

Tourism is in a constantly evolution, generating new trends, and with them new concepts, is the result tourists motivations. Young people are seeking for tourism products on affordable price in order to be possible to travel. Within, these new trends emancipate themselves concepts that previously were not yet used in our country. The motivations and the tourist’s income dictate the path of low cost tourism. Portugal is experiencing a tourism changing, due, in a considerable part, to the low cost concept. The low cost tourism is a segment with sufficient stregth to develop, recover specific resources as old buildings and recreating them to tourism product. The accommodation can take advantage of it, and with it can grow. Combining the attractiveness of the low cost prices, the hostels are using historic buildings, reusing and giving a breathing new life into the urban area. Oporto is a good example of good practice in low cost tourism, this can take bigger developments in tourist and local level.
