Relatório de Estágio realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Análises Clínicas

Abstract

In this report, carried out within the scope of the Master's Degree in Clinical Analysis taught at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra, is presented an overview of the work, laboratorial techniques, instruments and experiences that I developed in the curricular internship of the last year of this Master's Degree.I did this internship at the Laboratório de análises clinicas Dra. Luisa Frazão, under the guidance of Technical Director Dra. Luísa Frazão, for about 6 months (December to June). I had contact with the four major areas of clinical analysis: Biochemistry, Hematology, Immunology and Microbiology.I had the opportunity to apply the knowledge I acquired throughout my training (Bachelor Degree in Bioanalitycal Sciences and Masters Degree in Clinical Analysis) and acquirenew knowledge, work routines and the realization of some manual techniques.The sectors of Hematology and Biochemistry will be the sectors that I will discuss in more detail, because despite being the part of the laboratory work that is more automated and there is little actual and manual work to be performed, they were the areas that interested me most due to their importance in the clinical diagnosis and the numerous clinical cases that exist and their unique variations and peculiarities that exist from case to case. Some clinical cases, that i considered the most interesting and relevant to present, that i seen and underwent at the laboratory during my internship period are also developed.

Neste relatório, realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Análises Clínicas lecionado na Faculdadede Farmácia da Universidade de Coimbra, é apresentada uma visão geral do trabalho, técnicas laboratoriais,instrumentos e experiências com as quais contactei e desenvolvi no estágio curricular do último ano deste Mestrado.Realizei este estágio no Laboratório de Análises Clínicas Luísa Frazão com a orientação da Diretora Técnica Doutora Luísa Frazão, durante cerca de 6 meses (Dezembro a Junho). Tive a oportunidade de contactar com as quatro principais áreas das análises clínicas: Bioquímica, Hematologia, Imunologia e Microbiologia.Tive também a oportunidade de aplicar os conhecimentos que adquiri ao longo de toda a minhaformação (Licenciatura em Ciências Bioanalíticas e Mestrado em Análises Clinicas) e adquirir novos conhecimentos, rotinas de trabalho e a realização de algumas técnicas de carácter manual.Os setores de Hematologia e Bioquímica vão ser os setores que irei abordar mais em pormenor,porque apesar de se tratar da parte do trabalho laboratorial que é mais automatizada e existir pouco trabalho efetivo e manual a ser executado, foram as áreas que me interessaram mais pela suaimportância no diagnóstico clinico e pelos inúmeros casos clínicos que existem e pelas suas únicas variações e peculiearidades que existem de caso para caso. Também são desenvolvidos alguns casos clínicos que considerei mais interessantes e pertinentes, dos que surgiram nolaboratório no decorrer do meu período de estágio.
