Dividir para multiplicar: Da meiose à génese das rochas sedimentares

Abstract

Education is one of the pillars of the society and is a right for all citizens. In a world marked by the evolution of science and technology, it is crucial to promote science education where there is an opportunity for students to develop values and skills that allow them to intervene in an active, conscious, informed and responsible way in society. This report brings together all the pedagogical practice developed in the curricular unit of Pedagogical Training and Report of the second year of the Master's Degree in Biology and Geology Teaching in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and in Secondary Education, in the academic year 2022/2023. The pedagogical training took place at Escola Secundária José Falcão, in Coimbra, with the monitoring of 11th grade students in the subject of Biology and Geology. Preliminary to the magistracy of the classes, a bibliographical review of the scientific themes "Sexual reproduction and meiosis" and "Sedimentary rocks" was carried out to guarantee a detailed and in-depth knowledge of the themes when teaching. A review of the pedagogical literature was also performed considering the selection of methodologies and strategies to be applied. The resources were designed in line with the defined methodologies, strategies, and objectives. The application of a diagnostic evaluation test, before and after the teaching, made it possible to collect data regarding the effectiveness of the educational resources in the teaching-learning process. The analysis of results revealed that the students, in general, showed significant progression in relation to the content taught. Therefore, both the strategies and the resources applied were considered useful in scientific training, allowing the expansion of knowledge and skills on the topics under study.

A educação é um dos pilares da sociedade, sendo consagrada um direito de todos os cidadãos. Num mundo marcado pela evolução da ciência e da tecnologia, é crucial promover um ensino de ciências onde exista oportunidade para os alunos desenvolverem valores e competências que lhes permitam intervir de forma ativa, consciente, informada e responsável na sociedade. O presente relatório reúne toda a prática pedagógica desenvolvida na unidade curricular de Estágio Pedagógico e Relatório do segundo ano do Mestrado de Ensino de Biologia e Geologia no 3.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e no Ensino Secundário, no ano letivo 2022/2023. O estágio pedagógico decorreu na Escola Secundária José Falcão, em Coimbra, com o acompanhamento de alunos do 11.º ano na disciplina de Biologia e Geologia. Preliminarmente à magistratura das aulas, foi executada uma revisão bibliográfica dos temas científicos “Reprodução sexuada e meiose” e “Rochas sedimentares”, de modo a garantir o conhecimento pormenorizado dos temas aquando do lecionamento. Uma revisão de literatura pedagógica foi igualmente realizada, tendo em conta a seleção de metodologias e estratégias a aplicar. Os recursos foram concebidos em consonância com as metodologias, estratégias e objetivos definidos. A aplicação de um teste de avaliação, previamente e posteriormente à lecionação, permitiu recolher dados quanto à eficácia dos recursos educativos no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. A análise de resultados revelou que os discentes, na sua globalidade, apresentaram uma progressão significativa, relativamente aos conteúdos lecionados. Por conseguinte, tanto as estratégias como os recursos aplicados foram considerados úteis na formação científica, permitindo expandir conhecimentos e competências dos temas em estudo.
