Projeto do Tribunal Judicial da Comarca de Coimbra - Os Valores Representativos Associados aos Espaços da Justiça

Abstract

A seguinte dissertação propõe uma intervenção de uma proposta do novo tribunal da comarca de Coimbra assente nos valore representativos associados aos espaços da justiça, tendo como base de trabalho o espaço delimitado pelas ruas Figueira da Foz, João Machado e Avenida Fernão Magalhães.O local de estudo é o resultado do espaço sobrante do desenho de frentes de rua e utilizado como estacionamento nas suas extremidades, uma voltada para a Rua da Sofia e outra para a Avenida Fernão Magalhães, o que gera dificuldades na perceção urbana tanto no desenho como na leitura dos espaços. Já no interior deste lote, dada as intervenções feitas e os apoios que foram atribuídos aos edifícios que o delimitam, este ganhou um caracter de traseiras não havendo qualquer vestígio de integração urbana ou de requalificação do mesmo que pudesse tornar esta espaço mais salubre. Este trabalho foca-se no desenho de um novo edifício da Justiça que tem como objetivo albergar todos os seus serviços num único espaço, um exercício onde o construído procurou responder a necessidades urbanas e programáticas. As duas extremidades que atualmente servem de estacionamento são as principais áreas onde se pretende criar novas construções. O novo edifício procura dar respostas urbanas e complementar a pré-existência dotando o espaço com uma imagem que possa representar o programa que lhe é atribuído, e responder a questões urbanas que fomentem a passagem ou permanência no espaço. Pretende-se também intervir no espaço central deste lote de forma a responder a falta de salubridade deste espaço e que possa desenvolver uma leitura global do conjunto construído e pré-existente.

The following dissertation proposes an intervention for a proposed new courthouse for the district of Coimbra based on the representative values associated with justice spaces, having as work base the space delimited by Figueira da Foz, João Machado streets and Avenida Fernão Magalhães .The study site is the result of the space left over from the design of street fronts and used as a parking lot in its extremities, one facing Rua da Sofia and the other facing Avenida Fernão Magalhães, which generates difficulties in the urban perception both in the design and in the reading of the spaces. Already inside this lot, given the interventions made and the supports that were given to the buildings that surround it, it has gained a backyard character, and there is no trace of urban integration or redevelopment that could make this space more salubrious. This work focuses on the design of a new Justice building that aims to house all of its services in a single space, an exercise in which the built environment sought to respond to urban and programmatic needs. The two ends that currently serve as parking are the main areas where new construction is intended. The new building seeks to provide urban responses and complement the pre-existence by endowing the space with an image that can represent the program that is assigned to it, and respond to urban issues that encourage passage or permanence in the space. It is also intended to intervene in the central space of this lot in order to respond to the lack of salubrity of this space and to develop a global reading of the built and pre-existing set.
