Desejo de Ser e Pertencer: O Centro Comunitário das Fontaínhas

Abstract

O mundo está a assistir ao maior fluxo de pessoas forçadas a deixar o seu país de origem, devido às guerras, perseguições políticas e violações de direitos humanos. Segundo a Agência das Nações Unidas para Refugiados (UNHCR), até ao final de 2020, os números apontaram para cerca de 84,2 milhões de refugiados, o maior valor alguma vez registado. Esta mobilidade inicia-se quase sempre por um ato considerado ilegal, sendo que, os refugiados têm logo à partida um fator ambiental e espacial negativo, por se inserirem em comunidades marginais com tendência para a exclusão social. Uma devida integração, requer a apropriação de um espaço onde prevaleça o sentimento de pertença. "Feliz cidade que consegue atrair soluções sob a forma de pessoas. " (Tavares in Ser Imigrante et al. , 2010, p.32) Neste sentido, surge a necessidade de questionar como a arquitetura pode intervir na integração destes grupos marginalizados, tanto na sociedade como na cidade. De forma a responder a este tema atual, a presente dissertação tem como objetivo desenvolver um programa social, um Centro Comunitário, localizado no lugar das Fontaínhas, na cidade do Porto, destinado a refugiados e a toda a população local. Um lugar digno e de apoio, onde seja possível criar raízes e consolidar o desejo de ser e pertencer.

The world is witnessing the greatest flux of people forced to leave their country of origin, due to wars, political persecution and violations of the human rights . According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) , by the end of 2020 , the numbers pointed to around 84.2 million refugees, the highest number ever registered. This mobility almost always starts with an act considered illegal , being that the refugees have a negative environmental and spatial factor from the start, as they are inserted in marginal communities with a tendency to social exclusion. A proper integration requires the appropriation of a space where the feeling of belonging prevails. " Happy city that manages to attract solutions in the form of people . " ( Tavares in Being an Immigrant et al. , 2010, p. 32) In this sense, there is a need to question how architecture can intervene in the integration of these marginalized groups, in society and in the city. In order to respond to this current issue, the present dissertation aims to develop a social program, a Community Center , located in Fontaínhas, in the city of Porto, aimed at refugees and the entire local population . A worthy and supportive place, where is it possible to create roots and consolidate the desire to be and belong .
