DE PORTAS ABERTAS: O PAPEL DA INTERVENÇÃO ARTÍSTICA DE CARÁCTER COMUNITÁRIO EM NOVOS PROCESSOS DE VALORIZAÇÃO CULTURAL DAS COMUNIDADES

Abstract

O relatório que se segue baseia-se no projeto artístico-comunitário realizado no Vale da Arregaça, em Coimbra, De Portas Abertas organizado pelo Teatrão (Oficina Municipal de Teatro).Fui incorporado neste projeto como um membro da equipa de mapeamento cultural do Vale. Com a informação recolhida durante este processo sobre o espaço e a sua população, pretendo melhor compreender de que forma as tradições e práticas culturais previamente presentes no dia-a-dia do Vale se têm vindo a descontinuar e de que forma intervenções artísticas, como este projeto, podem contribuir para a revitalização da identidade local de espaços como o Vale da Arregaça.A cultura local contribui particularmente para a singularidade da identidade local, mas, no Vale da Arregaça a cultura histórica é um elemento que se tem vindo a desvalorizar. Apesar da existência de vários elementos de importância histórica no Vale da Arregaça, percebemos que estes são maioritariamente desconhecidos pela população de Coimbra, e, por vezes, mesmo para a própria população do Vale da Arregaça.A metodologia aplicada foi escolhida de modo a obter um abrangente conglomerado de dados que pudessem ser flexíveis na sua análise, e foi aplicada em fases: inicialmente, foi realizada uma observação direta da área de estudo e dos seus marcos históricos; de seguida foi feita uma recolha bibliográfica e análise documental; sendo a fase final o contacto direto com a população local através da aplicação de inquéritos por questionário, realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas e respetiva análise estatística dos resultados dos inquéritos.A informação presente neste relatório irá basear-se nos resultados da fase de mapeamento e nos dados estatísticos que dela surgiram para tirar as suas conclusões.

The following report is based on the artistic-community project carried out in Vale da Arregaça, in Coimbra, De Portas Abertas organized by Teatrão (Oficina Municipal de Teatro).I was incorporated into this project as a member of the cultural mapping team of the Vale. With the information collected during this process about the space and its population, I intend to better understand how the cultural traditions and practices previously present in the day-to-day of the Vale have been discontinued and how artistic interventions, such as this one, can contribute to the revitalization of the local identity of spaces such as Vale da Arregaça.Local culture contributes particularly to the uniqueness of the local identity, but in Vale da Arregaça historical culture is an element that has been devalued. Despite the existence of several elements of historical importance in Vale da Arregaça, we realized that these are mostly unknown to the population of Coimbra, and, sometimes, even to the population of Vale da Arregaça.The applied methodology was chosen in order to obtain a comprehensive set of data that could be flexible in its analysis, and was applied in phases: initially, a direct observation of the study area and its historical landmarks was carried out; then a bibliographic collection and documentary analysis was carried out; the final phase being the direct contact with the local population through the application of questionnaire surveys, conducting semi-structured interviews and the respective statistical analysis of the survey results.The information present in this report will be based on the results of the mapping phase and the statistical data that emerged from it to draw its conclusions.
