Biography
Marina Cunha was granted the academic title of Aggregate in Clinical Psychology in 2018 by the University of Coimbra. She is an Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT), co-coordinator of the 2nd study cycle in Clinical Psychology, and coordinator of the Therapeutic Intervention Department. She is a clinical psychologist at the Solidus Lda. (Clinical Practice) and an integrated member of the Center for Research in Neuropsychology and Cognitive and Behavioral Intervention (CINEICC) of the University of Coimbra (Research Group: Cognitive and Behavioural Processes and Change: Health and Psychopathology in Different Settings). She is a member of the Portuguese Psychologists Association, recognized as an expert psychologist in Clinical and Health Psychology with advanced expertise in Psychotherapy. She was also recognized by the Ministry of Health as a Clinical Psychologist equivalent to a special career in the National Health Service and certified as a Psychotherapist and Cognitive-Behavioral Supervisor. She has been teaching several curricular unities on Developmental Psychology, Psychopathology, Child and Adolescence Therapy, Contextual cognitive-behavioral therapies, Traineeship supervision, and Thesis supervision in Clinical Psychology (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies) on the 1st and 2nd cycle of studies. Published 151 articles in specialized journals. She has nine book chapters. Organized 11 scientific events. Supervised 6 PhD thesis and co-supervised 6 (10 correspond to FCT doctoral grants). Supervised 75 master dissertations and co-supervised 16. Has received 16 awards/or honors. Participates and/or participated as Researcher in 6 R&D research projects. Works in the area(s) of Social Sciences with emphasis on Psychology. Undertaken regular management positions at ISMT (e.g., President of the Scientific Council, co-coordinator of postgraduate courses in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies, coordinator of the 2nd cycle of Clinical Psychology-specialty Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies). In their professional activities, she interacted with 514 collaborator(s) co-authors of scientific papers. Her research interests focus on (1) the identification of the risk or protector factor (e.g., attachment styles, temperamental factors, early emotion memories, shame, self-criticism, peer relationships, emotion regulation difficulties) of various psychological problems (e.g., social anxiety, depression, stress, anxiety, infertility, binge eating, obesity, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder) in adolescents and adults; (2) the development and efficacy study of psychological interventions based on mindfulness and compassion aimed at diverse populations (e.g., teachers, students, athletes, firefighters) and settings (clinical, educational, sports); and (3) in the development of new instruments for clinical assessment in adolescents and adults.
