Biography
António Manuel Ribeiro Rebelo is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra, where he has been teaching since 1988, and a researcher at the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies at the University of Coimbra. He is Director of the Language Center at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, although he had already performed several academic functions. At Univ. from Coimbra, he held various positions at the Institute of Classical Studies, on the Faculty's Pedagogical and Scientific Councils and also held the positions of Assistant Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. He is Chief Director (together with José Luís Brandão and Margarida Lopes Miranda) of the series "Série Autores Gregos e Latinos" of the Classica Digitalia at the Coimbra University Press. He has developed his research in the context of classical literatures, Christian latin literature, medieval Latin philology (having supervised Master's and doctoral theses in this area), Christian and medieval studies, religious studies, Renaissance Latin, Portuguese literature, textual criticism and the Teaching of classical languages. Within these areas, he has published dozens of titles, including works, articles in scientific journals, book chapters, scientific translations. He participated in several scientific projects and has coordinated some of them. He is a member of several academic and scientific societies.
