Relatório de Estágio e Monografia intitulada "O aconselhamento farmacêutico na gravidez e amamentação"

Abstract

No estágio, como parte integrante do Mestrado Integrado em Ciências Farmacêuticas, é altura de colocar em prática tudo o que foi aprendido durante os cinco anos de curso e de ver qual a sua aplicação no mundo de trabalho. O estágio permitiu-me conhecer todo ofuncionamento da Farmácia Comunitária, desde a recepção de encomendas, dispensa de medicamentos, ao aconselhamento farmacêutico. O relatório retrata os conhecimentos adquiridos, bem como, uma análise SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities e Threats) do estágio. O aconselhamento farmacêutico, como atividade próxima do cidadão, tem um elevado impacto na qualidade de vida do doente, tendo como base a segurança, a eficácia e o uso racional do medicamento. Na gravidez e no aleitamento, é fundamental o acompanhamento de um profissional de saúde especialista do medicamento para garantir a ponderação dos riscos e que estes sejam superados pelos benefícios. A gravidez, por si só, não é sinónimo de doença, mas pode ter alguns desconfortos inerentes, como a azia e a obstipação. Embora possa haver efeitos secundários na toma de alguns fármacos, é importante minimizar o desconforto e reduzir o impacto na qualidade de vida das grávidas. No pós-parto, as dúvidas das mães aumentam, quer no que concerne ao processo de amamentação como no impacto que a medicação pode ter no seu bebé e resultam, muitas vezes, no abandono do aleitamento materno em exclusivo e em ceticismo no tratamento da mãe. Esta monografia reúne os desconfortos mais comuns das mulheres grávidas e a amamentar, assim como o aconselhamento que farmacêutico pode prestar de modo a promover o seu bem-estar.

The internship, as an integral part of the Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences, is where you put into practice everything that was learned during the five years of the course and when you see its application in the work world. The internship allowed me to get to know the entire operation of the Community Pharmacy, from taking orders, dispensing medicines, to pharmaceutical counselling. The report portrays the knowledge acquired, as well as a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) of the internship. Pharmaceutical counselling, as an activity close to the citizen, has a high impact on the patient's quality of life, based on safety, efficacy and rational use of the medication. In pregnancy and lactation, it is essential to be accompanied by a health professional who is a specialist in the drug to ensure that the risks are weighed and that these are outweighed by the benefits. Pregnancy in itself is not synonymous of illness, but it can cause some inherent discomforts, such as heartburn and constipation. Although there may be side effects when taking some drugs, it is important to minimise discomfort and reduce the impact in the quality of life of pregnant women. In the postpartum period, mothers' doubts increase, both regardingthe breastfeeding process and the impact that medication may have on their baby and often result in the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding and scepticism in the mother's treatment. The monograph brings together the most common discomforts of pregnant and breastfeeding women and the advice that a pharmacist can provide to promote their well being
