Relatórios de Estágio e Monografia intitulada “Nanocelulose: avanços e perspetivas futuras em tecnologia farmacêutica"

Abstract

O presente documento é composto pelos Relatórios de Estágio em Farmácia Comunitária e em Indústria Farmacêutica e pela Monografia intitulada “Nanocelulose: avanços e perspetivas futuras em tecnologia farmacêutica". O estágio em Farmácia Comunitária decorreu na Farmácia Rocha, em Condeixa-a-Nova, entre janeiro e abril de 2021, surgindo como parte integrante do plano de estudos do Mestrado Integrado em Ciências Farmacêuticas (MICF). O presente relatório encontra-se estruturado sob a forma de uma análise SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), onde são destacados os pontos fortes, os pontos fracos, as oportunidades e as ameaças, aspetos vivenciados durante quase 4 meses de aprendizagem. Este relatório culmina com uma breve análise introspetiva em relação não só à minha evolução enquanto pessoa e profissional como também ao crescimento, à aplicação de conhecimentos e à importância do papel de um farmacêutico na comunidade. Em anexo, encontram-se três casos clínicos que resolvi durante o meu estágio. O estágio em Indústria Farmacêutica realizou-se na Bluepharma Indústria Farmacêutica S.A., no departamento de Compliance, entre maio e julho de 2021. Este estágio, proporcionado pela Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Coimbra, permite que os estudantes possam conhecer outras possíveis saídas profissionais e que adquiram uma maior versatilidade de competências. Este relatório aborda uma contextualização acerca da Bluepharma, do conceito de Compliance e do departamento onde estagiei, encontrando-se estruturado sob a forma de uma análise SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) onde são destacados os pontos fortes, os pontos fracos, as oportunidades e as ameaças, vertentes vivenciadas durante 3 meses de aprendizagem. Concluo, realçando a minha evolução, as competências adquiridas e a aplicação de conhecimentos evidenciados durante este período de estágio. Por fim, segue-se uma breve síntese do conteúdo da minha monografia. A procura de novos excipientes com propriedades versáteis, que sejam sustentáveis, renováveis e baratos é uma necessidade premente da tecnologia farmacêutica. A nanocelulose (NC) surgiu como uma nova solução face aos desafios emergentes do mundo da investigação e do desenvolvimento. Uma vez que é dotada de facetas e características excecionais, torna-se essencial a sua abordagem numa perspetiva biomédica e tecnológica. Nesta revisão, são enumerados os tipos de NC e as suas excelentes características, bem como algumas das suas propriedades a nível de toxicidade para o organismo humano. Para além disso, esta monografia tem como enfoque a exposição e discussão das suas diversas aplicações, em que a NC tem conduzido à obtenção de resultados promissores e surpreendentes no panorama científico. Neste trabalho, de modo a realçar a evolução deste excipiente, foram abordadas as patentes, o mercado e as perspetivas futuras. Na verdade, o objetivo primordial foi elucidar as potencialidades e o crescimento exponencial da NC para fazer face aos novos desafios e revolucionar o mundo tecnológico.

This document comprises the Internship Reports in Community Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Industry and the Monograph entitled "Nanocellulose: advances and future perspectives in pharmaceutical technology". The internship in Community Pharmacy took place at Farmácia Rocha in Condeixa-a-Nova, between January and April 2021, appearing as an integral part of the study plan of the Integrated Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences (MICF). This report is structured in the form of a SWOT analysis, which highlights the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats experienced during nearly 4 months of learning. This report culminates with a brief introspective analysis about not only my evolution as a person and professional but also the growth, the application of knowledge and the importance of the role of a pharmacist in the community. On the appendix, there are three clinical cases that I solved during my internship. The internship in Pharmaceutical Industry took place at Bluepharma Indústria Farmacêutica S.A., in the department of Compliance, between May and July 2021. This internship provided by the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra allows students to learn about other possible professional opportunities and to acquire a wider versatility of skills. This report focuses on a contextualization about Bluepharma, the concept of Compliance and the department where I interned, being structured in the form of a SWOT analysis, which highlights the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats experienced during 3 months of learning. I conclude by highlighting my evolution, acquired skills and application of knowledge evidenced during this internship period. Finally, a brief summary of the content of my monograph follows. The search for new excipients with versatile properties that are sustainable, renewable and cheap is a pressing need for pharmaceutical technology. Nanocellulose (NC) arisen as a new solution to the emerging challenges of the world of research and development. Since it has exceptional facets and characteristics, it is essential to look at it from a biomedical and technological perspective. In this review, the types of NC and their outstanding characteristics are listed, as well as some of their properties related to their toxicity to the human body. Furthermore, this monograph focuses on the presentation and discussion of the diverse applications in which NC has led to promising and surprising results in the scientific panorama. In order to shed light on the development of this excipient, patents, the market and future perspectives are addressed. The main objective was to highlight the potential and exponential growth of NC to face new challenges and revolutionize the technological world.
