The presented dissertation refers to the work developed in the internship at Mercedes-Benz Brasil, where the focus is the Algeria project. This project aims to promote the independent assembly of the engine parts sent by TASIAP to SAFMMA in Algeria. TASIAP is a business joint venture between Daimler AG and Aabar, an Arabic investor and it is located in Stuttgart. In order to implement the independent assembly, it was agreed between the two entities that initially the engines would be shipped in Partial Knock Down (PKD), where 18 parts will be disassembled, but shipped in the same packaging as the engine, in order to create assembly habits at the Constantine plant. In this dissertation will be presented the processes that were delineated in the specification book that will help the operators to understand which ones to apply and how they unfold, so that the process of assembling an engine is properly executed. After several visits by representatives of Daimler AG to SAFMMA in Constantine, it was possible to do a survey about the structures and materials available there, in order to understand how to apply these same structures and equipment in building 19 of the Constantine plant for the processes to be implemented. The most important points that will be discussed in the dissertation are the general information for the PKD shipment process, the specifications on the assembly line, the test bench, the painting shop and the shipping of the engine. The stage of this project that was associated with the internship has been completed, and SAFMMA is now implementing all the specifications and changes proposed by Daimler AG taking into account the PKD process. In the future, the intention is to send the engine in CKD, where the parts will be shipped all disassembled and the assembly will be proceeded on the spot.eng
