Proposta de Intervenção no Castelo de Longroiva e na sua envolvente

Abstract

Séculos passaram desde a construção primitiva do Castelo de Longroiva. Trata-sede uma referência na região, marcada pela posição influente no território, pela dominanteimplantação e pelo valor simbólico que transmite. Classificado como Monumento Nacional, foiao longo do tempo alvo de adaptações e mudanças que alteraram em grande parte a sua fisionomia.A Torre de Menagem e parte da muralha são as estruturas que atualmente restam. Aúltima, foi recuperada para abraçar o cemitério que se encontra no seu interior. A construçãoenvolvente que ali se foi construindo contribuiu para que a sua relação com a freguesia sefosse perdendo. Por isso, o Castelo permanece apenas como lugar de contemplação. Indiferenteaos habitantes com os quais partilha o mesmo território, a obra mantém-se como umimportante testemunho histórico e arquitetónico, embora em ruínas.Atendendo à história e ao desenvolvimento económico, social e cultural do espaçoterritorial de Longroiva, este trabalho, integrado no seminário The Beautiful Past, tem comoobjetivo a construção de uma estratégia de regeneração urbana. Propõe-se devolver ao Monumentoa valorização que em tempos de glória possuiu, contrariando a atual tendência de degradaçãodeste Património e, consequentemente, do meio que o envolve. Sugere-se reintegrara Estrutura Militar com um novo programa, no sentido de a aproximar dos seus habitantes ede outro público, outorgando-lhe novas dinâmicas.O ato da intervenção será a chave para conservar as memórias e recuperar as vivências.Consideramos a importância da valorização do passado como projeto do futuro.

Centuries have passed since the primitive contruction of Longroiva Castle, a referenceof the region, marked by its influential position in the territory, by the dominant implantationand simbolic value that it transmites. Classified as a National Monument, it was overtime a target of adaptation and changes that altered largely its fisical physiognomy. The Keepand parte of its wall are the only structures that presently remain. The latter, was recoveredto embrace the cemitery located in its interior. The surrounding construction that was therebuilt contributed to the loss of relationship with the village. Therefore, the site remains onlyas a place of contemplation. Indiferent to the inhabitants that share the same territory, thesite maintains as an important historic and architectural testimony, although in ruins.Attending to history and to the economic, social and cultural development of theterritorial space of Longroiva, this work, integrated in the The Beautiful Past seminar, has asobjective the construction of an instrument of urban regeneration. Its proposed to returnto the Monument its value that in its time of glory it possessed, contradicting the current tendencyof degradation of this Patrimony and, consequently, the surrounding environment. Itssuggested the reintegration of the construction with a new scheme, in the sense to approximatewith its inhabitantes and other audience, permitting new dynamics.The act of the intervention will be the key to conserve the memories and restore theexperiences. We consider the importance of valuing the past as a project of the future.
