Recordar as Memórias do Passado: Promover o envelhecimento ativo e a intergeracionalidade com pessoas idosas institucionalizadas

Abstract

Este relatório resulta de um período de estágio de oito meses na instituição Centro Social e Paroquial de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré, no âmbito do 2º ano do Mestrado em Educação e Formação de Adultos e Intervenção Comunitária, da Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra. O trabalho desenvolvido insere-se na área educativa, em princípios de desenvolvimento e aprendizagem da idade adulta avançada, e consistiu em promover o envelhecimento ativo dos idosos institucionalizados, com ênfase em atividades fomentadoras da intergeracionalidade. A instituição que nos acolheu é uma IPSS que tem como valências a Estrutura Residencial para Pessoas Idosas (ERPI), o Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário (SAD), o Centro de Dia (CD) e a Universidade Sénior (US). O nosso trabalho foi mais direcionado para a valência Estrutura Residencial para Pessoas Idosas (ERPI), mas também para o Centro de Dia (CD).Durante o tempo de permanência na instituição, entre outubro de 2018 e maio de 2019, fizeram-se atividades de rotina já existentes e realizamos outras atividades que constituíram a novidade do nosso projeto de estágio. O nosso relatório de estágio divide-se nestas partes, primeiramente o enquadramento teórico que tem como temáticas o envelhecimento ativo, a gerontologia educativa, a animação sociocultural, e a institucionalização de pessoas de idade adulta avançada. De seguida a caracterização da instituição, o projeto de estágio em si, a descrição das atividades realizadas e, por fim, a auto e heteroavaliação. Consideramos que este estágio foi um período de grandes aprendizagens, que nos enriqueceu tanto a nível pessoal como a nível profissional. Sentimo-nos mais capaz de enfrentar o mundo do trabalho, por termos uma visão mais realista do que vivenciámos e assente em conhecimentos científicos sobre as características das pessoas de idade adulta avançada institucionalizadas e as exigências do trabalho com este público.

This report is the result of an eight-month internship at the Centro Social e Paroquial de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré, under the 2nd year of the Master in Adult Education and Community Intervention, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the Coimbra University. The work developed is in the educational area, principles of development and learning of advanced adulthood, and consisted in promoting the active aging of institutionalized elderly, with emphasis on activities that promote intergenerationality. The institution that welcomed us is an IPSS that has as valences the Residential Structure for the Elderly (RSE), the Home Support Service (HSS), the Day Center (DC) and the Senior University (SU). Our work was more focused on the valued Residential Structure for the Elderly (RSE), but also on the Day Center (DC).During the time spent at the institution between October 2018 and May 2019, existing routine activities were carried out and we performed other activities that were the novelty of our internship project.Our internship report is divided into these parts, firstly the theoretical framework that focuses on active aging, educational gerontology, socio-cultural animation, and the institutionalization of people of advanced adulthood. Then the characterization of the institution, the internship project itself, the description of the activities performed and, finally, the self and hetero-evaluation.We consider this internship to be a period of great learning that has enriched us both personally and professionally. We feel better able to face the world of work because we have a more realistic view of what we have experienced and based on scientific knowledge about the characteristics of institutionalized advanced adult people and the demands of working with this audience.
