Learning on the move: Educational context and opportunities for refugees and migrants in Serbia

Abstract

O presente relatório é uma apresentação detalhada do estágio académico realizado durante o segundo ano do curso de Mestrado em Educação e Formação de Adultos e Intervenção Comunitária da Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra. O estágio aconteceu de setembro de 2019 até o maio de 2020 em Belgrado, Sérvia, na organização não governamental Info Park, que atende refugiados e migrantes. O Info Park ajuda os refugiados e migrantes que fazem seu caminho pela Sérvia para um futuro melhor, fornecendo informações e programas educacionais. Durante o estágio procurei atingir três objetivos gerais de aprendizagem, nomeadamente, conhecer a dinâmica e a forma de trabalhar da instituição de acolhimento, aprender como trabalhar de forma adequada com o público-alvo específico e, por fim, aprender a preparar, implementar e avaliar atividades educacionais para refugiados e migrantes. Este relato é uma tentativa de apresentar e refletir sobre o processo de aprendizagem desse estágio. É composto por quatro capítulos principais, o Referencial teórico, onde apresento brevemente os modelos teóricos e princípios fundamentais da aprendizagem de adultos que informaram toda a experiência, a Caracterização da instituição, os objetivos do Projeto e atividades com a avaliação de cada objetivo, e por último a Avaliação Global onde reflito sobre a totalidade do estágio. Concluo este relatório com algumas reflexões finais sobre esta experiência.O estágio foi financiado através do Programa de Estágio Mobilidade Erasmus, oferecido pela universidade.

The present report is a detailed presentation of the academic internship carried out during the second year of the master’s degree in Adult Education and Training and Community Intervention of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra. The internship took place from September 2019 until May 2020 in Belgrade, Serbia, at the non-governmental organization Info Park which is working with refugees and migrants. Info Park assists the refugees and migrants who make their way through Serbia to a better future by providing information and educational programs. During the internship, I sought to achieve three general learning objectives, namely, get to know the dynamics and the way of working of the host institution, get to know how to work appropriately with the specific target group, and finally, learn how to design, implement and evaluate educational activities for refugees and migrants. This report is an attempt to both present and reflect on the learning process of this internship. It consists of four main chapters, the Theoretical framework, where I briefly present the theoretical models and fundamental principles of adult learning which informed the entire experience, the Characterization of the institution, the Project objectives and activities with the evaluation of each objective, and finally the Global Evaluation where I reflect on the entirety of the internship. I conclude this report with Some final thoughts on this experience.The internship was financed by the Erasmus Mobility for traineeship program offered by the university.
