Identidades futuras possíveis e figuras “escultoras”:estudo de caracterização de uma amostra de estudantes do ensino secundário

Abstract

O presente estudo teve como objetivo estudar as influências interpessoais dos adolescentes, considerando a hipótese de que tenham um leque alargado de figuras ‘escultores’, tanto de afirmação comportamental como perceptual, com variadas relações com eles, e a influência dos mesmos na sua atitude face ao futuro, nos projectos pessoais e no progresso em direcção ao seu eu ideal.Outro objetivo igualmente importante foi descrever e analisar do ponto de vista qualitativo e quantitativo aspectos de conteúdo e a valência das imagens de si mesmo no futuro dos adolescentes, e as relações que estes aspectos têm entre si e com as características das figuras de influência interpessoal indicadas pelo adolescente, ‘escultores’. Classifica os domínios motivacionais dos selves possíveis, classifica os sujeitos e descreve a frequência com que combinam conteúdos interpessoais/relacionais e conteúdos vocacionais/carreira. Um objetivo complementar consistiu em verificar se as figuras indicadas na resposta ao questionário como ‘escultores percetuais’ e como ‘escultores comportamentais’ se distinguiam entre si, em aspetos como a relação que mantêm com o jovem, ou se eram em grande medida as mesmas pessoas indicadas como exercendo diferentes tipos de afirmação.Os dados foram originalmente recolhidos através de um questionário construído para o efeito, intitulado “Questionário das Influências Pessoais”. Este questionário era constituído por cinco grandes partes, mas somente três foram objecto do presente estudo, as quais solicitavam, através de questões abertas e fechadas: 1) as imagens de si mesmos no futuro desejadas, receadas e prováveis, e qualidades pessoais desejadas, 3) as pessoas que, para cada uma das características pessoais ou traços desejadas, agiam como modelos perceptuais ou comportamentais, i.e., da pessoas com quem o jovem interagiu no último mês, as que já percepcionavam em si essa característica ideal , e as que encorajavam o jovem a manifestá-la, solicitando ainda, para cada figura indicada, o sexo, a relação com o adolescente, o grau em que o jovem considera que essa figura demonstra ela própria possuir essa característica, a frequência de interação com essa figura, e finalmente, as situações ou atividades que desenvolve com essa pessoa, de uma lista uma lista compreensiva de atividades.

This study aimed to study the interpersonal influences of adolescents, considering the hypothesis that they have a wide range of 'sculptor' figures, both behavioural and perceptual, with varied relationships with them, and their influence on their attitude towards the future, on personal projects and on progress towards their ideal self.Another equally important objective was to describe and analyze from a qualitative and quantitative point of view aspects of content and the validity of images of oneself in the future of adolescents, and the relationships that these aspects have between themselves and with the characteristics of the figures of interpersonal influence indicated by the adolescent, 'sculptors'. Classifies the domains motivational of possible selves, classifies the subjects and describes how often combine interpersonal/relational and vocational/career content. One goal complementary consisted of checking whether the figures indicated in the reply to the questionnaire as percussive sculptors' and how 'behavioural sculptors' distinguished themselves in aspects like the relationship they had with the young man, or whether they were largely the same people indicated as exerting different kinds of affirmation.The data were originally collected through a questionnaire constructed for this purpose, entitled "Questionnaire of Personal Influences". This questionnaire consisted of five large parts, but only three were the object of the present study, which requested, through open and closed questions: 1) the desired, feared and probable images of themselves in the future, and desired personal qualities, 3) the people who, for each of the desired personal characteristics or traits, acted as perceptual or behavioural models, i.e, those with whom the young person has interacted in the past month, those who already perceived this ideal characteristic in themselves, and those who encouraged the young person to manifest it, also requesting, for each indicated figure, the sex, the relationship with the adolescent, the degree to which the young person considers that this figure demonstrates that he or she possesses this characteristic, the frequency of interaction with this figure, and finally, the situations or activities that he or she develops with this person, from a comprehensive list of activities.
