| pt |
dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, the administration of inhaled medication is an important area of activity for the pharmaceutical sector thanks to the lung that offers good anatomical and physiological advantages for this therapy to be possible. This non-invasive and convenient route of administration allows us to surmount the adverse effects of oral and intravenous delivery. First of all it is important to understand why the lung offers propitious conditions to the absorption of pharmaceutical drugs, how the process works and all the factors that have an impact on it. Associated to this is the familiarity with the technology and devices used in inhalation. It is crucial to explore the clinical uses of this route of delivery, because of the difficulty of naming all of them I am going to mention those who arouse my interest, such as tuberculosis, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, diabetes, etc. Nanoparticles are a great opportunity for the progress of this field making it possible to reach specific areas of the lung and to increase the bioavailability. | pt |
