Abstract

Argumento cinematográfico original escrito a partir de uma metodologia assente nas propostas teóricas de Robert McKee e Syd Field, as quais se baseiam num padrão resultante da análise ao nível da estrutura narrativa de um vasto corpus fílmico. O formato apresentado segue os requisitos técnicos considerados standard na indústria cinematográfica, na medida em que se trata de um projeto que tem em vista a sua concretização em filme. O género cinematográfico escolhido foi o drama e o tema incide sobre o comportamento sexual dos membros de uma família de classe média alta. Tratando-se de uma ficção, isto é, de uma escolha seletiva de ações e eventos dispostos numa dimensão espaciotemporal imaginada, especulativa e intencionalmente estruturada como narrativa, parte da observação e análise de comportamentos individuais no atual contexto social. O decalque de aspetos da vivência quotidiana daquilo que tem sido designado por "estilo de vida ocidental", contribui para uma abordagem (hiper)realista dos eventos representados. Desta maneira, e tendo em conta a incidência temática, o argumento inclui cenas que têm uma descrição explícita de atos de cariz sexual. Esta opção é motivada pelo facto de, por um lado, a sexualidade ser timidamente representada na cinematografia portuguesa; por outro, ser um aspeto determinante e caracterizador das relações sociais e do espaço público. Neste projeto, há também um renovado interesse em encontrar elementos narrativos que enfrentem os lugares comuns criados pela indústria cinematográfica, em particular, a objetificação da mulher, os limites da transgressão e o círculo íntimo familiar como tabu.

Original screenplay written using a methodology advocated on the theoretical proposals of Robert McKee and Syd Field, which are based on a pattern resulting from the analysis of the narrative structure of a vast filmic corpus. The format presented in this work follows the technical requirements considered standard in the film industry, as it is a project aimed at its realization in film. The film genre chosen was drama and the theme focuses on the sexual behavior of the members of an upper middle class family. Being a fiction, that is, a selective choice of actions and events arranged in an imagined and speculative spatiotemporal dimension, intentionally structured as a narrative, it relies on the observation and analysis of individual behaviors in the current social context. The decal of aspects of everyday living of what has been termed as "western lifestyle" contributes to a (hyper)realistic approach to the events represented. Thus, and given the thematic focus, the screenplay includes scenes that have an explicit description of acts of sexual nature. This option is motivated by the fact that, on the one hand, sexuality is shyly represented in Portuguese cinematography; on the other, to be a determining and characterizing aspect of social relations and public space. In this project, there is also a renewed interest in finding narrative elements that confront the commonplaces created by the film industry, particularly, the objectification of women, the boundaries of transgression, and the inner family circle as taboo.
