Relatório de Estágio e Monografia intitulada “Ocorrência de antibióticos nas águas e o impacto na saúde humana e ambiental"

Abstract

A deteção de antibióticos e outros compostos farmacêuticos nas águas residuais e no ambiente aquático, trouxe uma preocupação crescente sobre os seus potenciais impactos ecológicos e humanos adversos. A difusão destes no ambiente contribui para o desenvolvimento e a difusão global da resistência aos antibióticos. Este fenómeno é um dos mais importantes desafios para o sector da saúde no século XXI. Por conseguinte houve um aumento do seu estudo tanto sobre a sua ocorrência, efeitos e destino. No entanto, a sua potencial ecotoxicidade aquática e toxicidade humana através de vias de exposição ambiental permanecem desconhecidas. Os antibióticos abordados pertencem a duas classes diferentes, fluoroquinolonas (CIP) e macrólidos (AZI, CLA e ERY), que inibem o crescimento bacteriano. As fluoroquinolonas atuam inibindo a síntese de DNA bacteriano, e os macrólidos ligam-se aos ribossomas bacterianos, inibindo a biossíntese de proteínas.O objetivo desta monografia é discutir a ocorrência de medicamentos antimicrobianos no ambiente aquático, dos seus efeitos adversos causados e a ameaça associada ao fenómeno da resistência aos antibióticos.A Farmácia Comunitária é muitas vezes o primeiro local onde os utentes se dirigem na presença de doença e na procura da sua prevenção. Assim sendo, é fundamental que o farmacêutico esteja preparado não só para efetuar a correta dispensa de medicamentos, mas também realizar o correto aconselhamento de Medicamentos Não Sujeitos a Receita Médica (MNSRM), suplementos alimentares, produtos de cosmética, uso veterinário entre outros.O presente relatório é referente ao meu estágio na Farmácia Castro (FC) - Gondomar, realizado entre o dia 7 de janeiro de 2019 a 4 de maio de 2019, sob a orientação da Dra. Maria Angelina Neves e contempla uma análise SWOT (Strenghs, Weaknesses, Opportunites, Threats) que envolve a análise de pontos fortes, fracos, oportunidades e das ameaças relativos ao mesmo.O estágio curricular em Assuntos Regulamentares (AR) surge no âmbito da unidade curricular “Estágio” do 5ºano do Mestrado Integrado em Ciências Farmacêuticas (MICF) da Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Coimbra (FFUC).Apesar deste estágio não ser obrigatório, sempre me interessei pela área regulamentar graças ao Professor Doutor João José Sousa, docente que leciona a unidade curricular de Assuntos Regulamentares do Medicamento. Desta forma, quando surgiu a possibilidade de estagiar na consultora farmacêutica Owlpharma – Consulting, Lda. Sediada em Coimbra, aceitei a oportunidade de imediato.O presente relatório é referente ao meu estágio na Owlpharma, realizado entre o dia 6 de janeiro de 2020 e 31 de março de 2020, sob a orientação dos dois Diretores, Dr. César Gonçalves e Dr. Ricardo Andrade e contempla uma análise SWOT (Strenghs, Weaknesses, Opportunites, Threats) que envolve a análise de pontos fortes, fracos, oportunidades e das ameaças relativos ao mesmo.

The discovery of antibiotics and other pharmaceutical compounds in wastewater and the aquatic environment has brought growing concern about their potential adverse ecological and human impacts. The diffusion of these in the environment contributes to the development and global spread of antibiotic resistance. This phenomenon is one of the most important challenges for the health sector in the 21st century. Therefore, there has been an increase in its study both on its occurrence, effects and fate. However, its potential aquatic ecotoxicity and human toxicity through environmental exposure routes remain unknown. The selected antibiotics belong to two different classes, fluoroquinolones (CIP) and macrolides (AZI, CLA and ERY), which inhibit bacterial growth. Fluoroquinolones act by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis and macrolides link to the bacterial ribosomes, inhibiting protein biosynthesis.The aim of this monograph is to discuss the occurrence of antimicrobial drugs in the aquatic environment, their adverse effects and the threat associated with the phenomenon of antibiotic resistance.The Community Pharmacy is often the first place where users go in the presence of disease and in seeking its prevention. Therefore, it is essential that the pharmacist is prepared not only to make the correct dispensing of medicines, but also to make the correct counseling of Non Prescription Medicine (NPM), food supplements, cosmetic products, veterinary use among others.This report refers to my internship at Farmácia Castro (FC) - Gondomar, held between january 7, 2019 to may 4, 2019, under the guidance of Dr. Maria Angelina Neves and includes a SWOT (Strenghs, Weaknesses, Opportunites, Threats) analysis involving the analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats relating to it.The curricular internship in Regulatory Affairs (RA) is part of the curricular unit "Internship" of the 5th year of the Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences (IMPS) of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (FPUC).Although this internship is not compulsory, I have always been interested in the regulatory area thanks to Professor João José Sousa, lecturer who teaches the Medicines Regulatory Affairs curricular unit. Therefore, when the possibility arose to train at the pharmaceutical consultancy Owlpharma - Consulting, Ltd. based in Coimbra, I accepted the opportunity immediately.This report refers to my internship at Owlpharma, held between january 6, 2020 and march 31, 2020, under the guidance of the two Directors, Dr. César Gonçalves and Dr. Ricardo Andrade and includes a SWOT analysis (Strenghs, Weaknesses, Opportunites, Threats) which involves the analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats relating to it.
