Sobral Cid: o Parque Terapêutico Para além de uma proposta urbana

Abstract

No âmbito da cadeira de seminário do ano letivo 2018/2019 com o tema Reabilitar a Casa do Homem partiu do projeto de investigação CuCa_Re, Cure and Care_the rehabilitation que consiste no estudo e desenvolvimento de uma proposta de intervenção para a conservação ou reuso do património hospitalar de Coimbra do século XX, promovida pelo Dr. Bissaya Barreto. O Hospital Psiquiátrico Sobral Cid, entre os equipamentos hospitalares apresentados, foi escolhido como objeto de estudo pelo tipo de modelo arquitetónico - Modelo Pavilhonar. Para a elaboração da proposta de intervenção foi realizada uma investigação com o intuito de melhor compreender a origem e desenvolvimento das infraestruturas do hospital. Considerando a história e as suas características arquitetónicas, classificando-se por um equipamento de interesse público, foi possível idealizar uma proposta de requalificar o complexo hospitalar e contexto urbano onde se localiza. Daí, idealizou-se uma proposta que teve como referência documentos, fotografias, análise de outros hospitais psiquiátricos, conferências, entre outros elementos. Esta proposta, tem como principal objetivo voltar a implementar a Terapia Ocupacional (Ergoterapia e Ludoterapia) no tratamento de doentes mentais, e adequar o edifício ao conceito de hospital autossustentável. A criação deste conceito torna-se importante para a realização do plano de intervenção, justificando a proposta. A proposta baseia-se na organização do programa hospitalar pelos pavilhões; criação de uma nova estrutura programática para os espaços verdes existentes; proposta de novas valências programáticas, reforçando o conceito de hospital autossustentável e o interesse do equipamento hospitalar pela sociedade criando por exemplo o Mercado Sobral Cid como grande atrativo do Hospital Psiquiátrico Sobral Cid.

Within the scope of the seminar chair of the academic year 2018/2019 with the theme Rehabilitate the House of Man, it started from the research project CuCa_Re, Cure and Care_the rehabilitation which consists in the study and development of an intervention proposal for the conservation or reuse of the hospital heritage of Coimbra in the 20th century, promoted by Dr. Bissaya Barreto. The Sobral Cid Psychiatric Hospital, among the hospital equipment presented, was chosen as the object of study due to the type of architectural model - Pavilion Model. To prepare the intervention proposal, an investigation was carried out in order to better understand the origin and development of the hospital's infrastructures. Considering the history and its architectural characteristics, being classified by equipment of public interest, it was possible to devise a proposal to requalify the hospital complex and urban context where it is located. Hence, a proposal was devised that had as reference documents, photographs, analysis of other psychiatric hospitals, conferences, among other elements. This proposal has the main objective of re-implementing Occupational Therapy (Ergotherapy and Ludotherapy) in the treatment of mental patients, and adapting the building to the concept of a self-sustaining hospital. The creation of this concept becomes important for the realization of the intervention plan, justifying the proposal. The proposal is based on the organization of the hospital program by the pavilions; creation of a new programmatic structure for the existing green spaces; proposal for new programmatic values, reinforcing the concept of a self-sustaining hospital and the interest of hospital equipment in society, creating, for example, the Sobral Cid Market as a major attraction of the Sobral Cid Psychiatric Hospital.
