| pt |
dc.description.abstract | Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that infects the human gastric mucosa, and it is an important pathogen present in a large proportion of the human population. The infection is correlated with the development of diseases such as peptic ulcer and gastric carcinoma. The detection in the gastric mucosa is based on various methods, which vary in terms of sensitivity, specificity, cost and accessibility. Over time, the eradication of H. pylori has become increasingly difficult due to the increased rates of bacterial resistance to the antibiotics used, such as clarithromycin, leading to the development of new therapeutic regimens. The increased resistance to antibacterial therapy for the eradication of H. pylori is associated with prior use of antibiotics for other diseases. Because of the constant increase in the failure of antibacterial therapy, new treatments have been developed to eradicate H. pylori. | pt |
