Dopagem sanguínea em desportistas: perspectivas

Abstract

A dopagem é um flagelo que atinge a grande maioria dos desportos. Nos últimos anos têm sido intensificadas as tentativas para combater a utilização de substâncias ilícitas, através do aumento do número de controlos antidopagem fora de competição e da melhoria dos métodos de detecção. Apesar destes esforços, no caso da dopagem sanguínea, ainda não se conseguiu desenvolver uma forma de detectar alguns dos seus métodos, dependendo unicamente de provas não científicas ou testemunhos para punir os atletas infractores. Neste trabalho procura-se dar uma visão geral da dopagem sanguínea por forma a perceber quais as razões que dificultam a luta das autoridades. Serão também abordadas novas perspectivas e possíveis projectos a serem implementados no futuro por parte das autoridades, procurando sempre alcançar um desporto livre de dopagem.

Doping is a scourge that reaches the most sports. In the last years, the attempts to fight against the use of illicit substances has been intensified through the increase of the numbers of out of competition anti-doping controls and the improvement of the detection methods. Despite these efforts, in the case of blood doping it has not yet been developed a method to detect some of its types, currently depending on non-scientific evidence to sanction the athletes who use it. In this work we seek to present an overview of blood doping and its different possibilities, in order to understand the reasons that difficult the authorities'fight against it. We will also present new perspectives and possible projects anti-doping to be implemented in the future by the authorities, always with the goal of achieving a doping-free pratice of sports.
