Educação e cuidado de crianças de 0 a 3 anos: pesquisas contemporâneas sobre infância

Abstract

Neste artigo apresenta-se um levantamento das pesquisas produzidas pelo Núcleo de Estudos de Gênero, Raça e Idade (NEGRI), da Pontifícia Univer- sidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), coordenado por Fúlvia Rosemberg. Um dos enfoques das pesquisas realizadas no período de 2008 a 2016 visa à pro- blematização da posição ocupada pela criança de 0 a 3 anos no âmbito das políticas públicas voltadas para a infância. Procura-se estudar o processo de construção social da infância no Brasil e problematizar questões acerca da educação e cuidado na creche. Para isso foram privilegiadas algumas catego- rias centrais de análise: a criança de 0 a 3 anos; a creche como direito da crian- ça e da família; a infância e o campo das relações étnico-raciais. A análise dos dados se apoia nos aportes teórico-metodológicos de John B. Thompson e Fúlvia Rosemberg. Os resultados apontam que as sociedades ocidentais são adultocêntricas e que as relações de idade constituem uma categoria analítica útil para se compreender as desigualdades sociais. Afinal, os limites cronológi- cos da segmentação social que pode ser reconhecida nos ritos que acompa- nham o percurso educacional da infância, contribuem para a invisibilidade das crianças que neste subgrupo se encontram na faixa etária de 0 a 3 anos.

This article presents a survey of the research produced by the Center for Gender, Race and Age Studies (NEGRI), of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), coordinated by Fúlvia Rosemberg. One of the approaches of the research carried out in the period from 2008 to 2016 aims at the problematization of the position occupied by children from 0 to 3 years in the scope of the public policies directed towards childhood. It seeks to study the process of social construction of childhood in Brazil and to problematize questions about education and care in day care. For this, some central categories of analysis were favored: the child from 0 to 3 years; day care as the right of the child and the family; childhood and the field of ethnic-racial relations. The analysis of the data is based on the theoretical-methodological contributions of John B. Thompson and Fúlvia Rosemberg. The results show that western societies are adult-centric and that age relations constitute a useful analytical category for understanding social inequalities. After all, the chronological limits of social segmentation that can be recognized in the rites that accompany the educational path of childhood, contribute to the invisibility of the children in this subgroup who are in the 0-3 age group.
