Custo das reacções adversas a medicamentos: revisão da literatura

Abstract

As Reações Adversas a Medicamentos (RAM’s) têm um grande impacto na sociedade atual, sendo responsáveis por elevadas morbilidades e mortalidades, o que causa prejuízos a nível económico para os Serviços de Saúde e para a economia de um país. A sua ocorrência é, muitas vezes, imprevisível e inevitável, contudo uma parte dos casos pode ser evitada se houver uma maior atenção aos tratamentos farmacológicos prestados, o que se traduzirá numa maior eficiência terapêutica. O objetivo do trabalho é identificar estudos que estimem os custos associados à ocorrência de RAM, descrevendo os seus resultados.

The Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) have a major impact on modern society, not only in causing high morbidities and mortalities but also in the economics of the country and its Health Services. Its occurrence is often unavoidable and unpredictable, but some of it can be avoided if there is a stronger focus on the pharmacological treatments provided, resulting in greater therapeutic effectiveness. This review is intended to identify studies designed to estimate the costs of ADRs, describing their results.
