This internship report, carried out within the scope of the Master of Clinical Analysis of the Faculty of Pharmacy, aims to describe the activities developed at the Germano de Sousa Laboratory of CUF Viseu Hospital, taking into account the new knowledge obtained during the internship as well as the knowledge previously acquired. The Master in Clinical Analysis of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra has a syllabus with a wide formation in the various valences of laboratory diagnosis. This syllabus is part of an obligatory internship, with great importance not only in the consolidation of knowledge. theoretical knowledge acquired during the two years, as well as the acquisition of new skills that prepare us to integrate the routine of a laboratory.Clinical analyzes, as a complementary means of diagnosis, play a central role in the provision of health care, since they allow the diagnosis of more or less serious pathologies or diseases, contributing to their prevention and early detection. A large part of medical decisions is made taking into account the results of clinical analyzes. With the evolution of technology, automatic systems have emerged, with more sensitive and precise methods, which allow not only a faster analysis of biologist products, but also less subject to human error. The biological products that arrive at the laboratory are diverse such as: blood, urine, feces, serous liquids among others, being analyzed in very diverse areas such as: Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, Virology and Genetics. As part of the internship at the Germano de Sousa Laboratory at the HospitalCUF Viseu, which lasted 800 hours, had the opportunity to go through all the analytical areas of the laboratory, namely Microbiology, Hematology, Biochemistry and Immunology. Contact with the daily lab routines was an extremely rewarding experience that made me grow not only professionally but also as a person. As previously proposed, I will briefly explain the activities carried out in the Biochemistry and Hematology sector and in more depth the Immunology and Microbiology sectors.Firstly, a brief description and characterization of the laboratory will be made, where I had the opportunity to apply in practice knowledge acquired during the Master's degree. The internship, with a professional character, covers the areas of: Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Immunology. From the four areas I selected Microbiology and Immunology for a greater focus, in which there will be a deeper understanding of the activities developed and parameters analyzed.Enviar feedbackHistóricoSalvasComunidade
