Fitoterapia nos cuidados capilares: segurança e eficácia

Abstract

As características fundamentais do nosso cabelo natural, podem ser manipuladas através da utilização de diferentes produtos. Para além de cuidados puramente cosméticos, existem ainda algumas patologias que afetam o cabelo e o couro cabeludo, exigindo terapias mais direcionadas. As várias formulações capilares utilizadas destinam-se a proteger, limpar, promover a atratividade ou alterar a aparência, mantendo-os em boas condições. O grande número de variáveis a ter em conta neste processo, transforma a formulação de um produto capilar num desafio que requer investigação contínua. Cada vez mais, essa investigação passa pela utilização de produtos à base de plantas que, em situações específicas, se tornam determinantes no tratamento de afeções como a alopécia, dermatite seborreica, caspa ou até oleosidade, pelas suas propriedades imunomoduladoras, anti-inflamatórias, cicatrizantes, calmantes, antipruriginosas, antifúngicas, antissépticas entre muitas outras potencialidades. Assim, o propósito do presente trabalho é analisar a aplicação desses produtos naturais, à base de plantas, na terapêutica destas afeções. Para isso, analisaram-se diferentes plantas, atendendo principalmente à parte de planta usada, princípios ativos e respetivo mecanismo de ação, no tratamento diferentes afeções capilares. Nesse estudo, é de destacar a análise das seguintes plantas: Glycine max (L.) Merr. (G.hispida (moench) Mazim.), Serenoa repens (W.Bartram) Small, Cinchona pubescens Vahl (C. succirubra Pavon), Citrus x aurantium L. ssp. amara Eng., Glycyrhiza glabra L., Arctium lappa L., Ruscus aculeatus L., Ginkgo biloba L., Panax ginseng C. A. Mey, Melaleuca alternifolia (Maiden & Betche) Cheel, Pfaffia paniculata (Mart.) Kuntze., Prunus armeniaca L., Mentha x piperita L. e Urtica dioica L., por serem as componentes mais frequentes das formulações terapêuticas vendidas em Farmácia comunitária.

The basic features of our natural hair can be handled through the use of different products. Apart from purely cosmetic care, there are some diseases that affect the hair and the scalp, requiring more targeted therapies. The various hair formulations used are intended to protect, clean, promoting attractiveness or changing the look, keeping them in good shape. The large number of variables to take into account in this process transforms the formulation of a hair product in a challenge that requires continuous research. Increasingly, this research involves the use of herbal products, in specific situations, become determinant in the treatment of affections such as alopecia, seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, or even oils, its immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, healing, soothing, antipruritic, antifungal, antiseptic among many other capabilities. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the application of these natural products, plant based therapy in these affections. For this, different plants were analysed based on their formulation and part of plant to be used, active ingredients and its mechanism of action in treating different hair affections. In this study highlights the analysis of the following plants: Glycine max (L.) Merr. (G.hispida (moench) Mazim.), Serenoa repens (W.Bartram) Small, Cinchona pubescens Vahl (C. succirubra Pavon)., Citrus x aurantium L. ssp. amara Eng., Glycyrhiza glabra L., Arctium lappa L., Ruscus aculeatus L., Ginkgo biloba L., Panax ginseng C. A. Mey, Melaleuca alternifolia (Maiden & Betche) Cheel, Pfaffia paniculata (Mart.) Kuntze., Prunus armeniaca L., Mentha x piperita L. e Urtica dioica L. for being the most frequent components of the therapeutic formulations sold in Community Pharmacy.
