Jovens pertencentes a juventudes políticas/partidos políticos e jovens voluntários: Um olhar sobre a violência entre parceiros íntimos

Abstract

O presente estudo tem como principal objetivo estudar as representações sociais de jovens com um papel ativo na sociedade, mais especificamente jovens pertencentes a juventudes políticas/partidos políticos e jovens voluntários, no que diz respeito à violência entre parceiros íntimos. Também foi estudada a utilização, pelos sujeitos, de táticas de resolução de conflitos nas suas relações íntimas. A amostra do estudo tem um total de 87 indivíduos, sendo que 52 (59,8%) são voluntários e 35 (40,2%) fazem parte de juventudes partidárias ou partidos políticos. Administrámos um protocolo que contém três questionários principais: As Escalas de Táticas de Conflito Revisadas (The Revised Conflict Tactics Scales-CTS-2), o Questionário de Violência Conjugal- Histórias (QRVC-HIS) e o Questionário de Violência Conjugal- Causas, Manutenção e Resolução (QVC-CMR).Os resultados demonstraram uma baixa legitimação da violência entre parceiros íntimos. Não foram encontradas diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre os dois grupos em estudo.No que diz respeito às relações íntimas dos sujeitos, a maioria utiliza a tática de resolução Negociação. No entanto, os resultados são inquietantes dada a recorrência elevada a táticas de resolução de conflito violentas.É demonstrada a existência de mitos e falta de conhecimento sobre a violência entre parceiros íntimos, apontando para a grande necessidade de formação sobre o tema.A violência pode ser manifestada de variados modos e em qualquer contexto, independentemente da classe social ou faixa etária. Os indivíduos ligados à política e ao voluntariado têm e poderão ter no futuro um papel muito importante no que a este assunto diz respeito; os primeiros porque debatem sobre temas relevantes na sociedade e podem legislar, e os segundos porque contactam mais diretamente com pessoas carenciadas a algum nível, sendo que entre estas poderão ser vítimas de VPI. Parece-nos de extrema importância investigar as Representações Sociais deste tipo de violência de jovens pertencentes a juventudes políticas/partidos políticos e jovens voluntários.

The current study´s main objective is to explore the social representations of young people who belong to partisan youths/political parties and young volunteers regarding intimate partner violence. The subjects' use of conflict resolution tactics in intimate relationships was also studied.The sample consists of 87 subjects, of whom 59,8% are young people who belong to partisan youths/political parties and 40,2% are young volunteers. The protocol contains the Revised Conflict Tactics Scales (CTS-2), the Conjugal Violence-Stories Questionnaire (QRVC-HIS) and the Conjugal Violence-Causes, Maintenance and Resolution Questionnaire (QVC-CMR).The results reveal a low legitimation of violence among intimate partners and there were not found any significant diferences statistically speaking among the two groups in study.Regarding the subject’s intimate relationships, it is revealed that most of them use the Negotiation tactic. However, the results are disturbing given the high recurrence to violent resolution tactics.The data demonstrates the existence of some myths and lack of knowledge about the intimate partner violence and it would be useful for these young people to have more trainning about this subject.Violence can be manifested in a variety of ways and in any context, regardless of social class or age group. Individuals linked to politics and volunteering have and may in the future play a very important role in this matter; the first of them because they debate about relevant issues in society and can legislate, and the volunteers, because they contact more directly with people in need at some level, and among them may be victims of IPV. It seems to us of extreme importance to investigate the Social Representations of this type of violence of young people belonging to political youths/political parties and young volunteers.
