Violence against Women in the home environment has a number of specific features that differentiates it from other types of aggression and abuse. Within these features, you can include the space in which it occurs, the subjects involved, and the set of psychological factors in question and that contribute to the complexity of the problem, and may obscure its meaning and perception. Most of the assaults suffered by women come from interpersonal conflict, which ultimately has earned little attention from the general society.Despite legislative progress, women are still restricted in the exercise of their rights due to ideological resistance perpetuating past discrimination and, therefore, preventing the existing rights. The role of the media in eradicating gender violence is valued, as well as its contribution to make visible and socially relevant, the complex experiences lived by women in private. When denouncing mistreatment and assaults on women, the media place the problem the public discourse, giving voice not only to the authorities but also to experts in the field, as well as battered women, encouraging other victims to report this situation and to seek help from the authorities. However, often this issue is covered in a superficial, banal and even sensacionalist, leading to the naturalization of violence and conveying the idea that this problem continues to be personal and not of society in general. It's so important to study the role of the media in transmitting the violence against women, as well as the way they are presented these news.
