Tradução Turística

Abstract

Pretende-se com este relatório dar a conhecer o trabalho desenvolvido no âmbito do estágio curricular do Mestrado de Tradução da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, efetuado no Gabinete de Turismo da Câmara Municipal da Figueira da Foz. Começarei por fazer, na primeira secção do relatório, a apresentação da entidade onde estagiei e dos moldes em que este estágio se desenvolveu. A segunda secção será dedicada ao Turismo e a uma breve menção aos números do Turismo em Portugal, onde identificarei muito sucintamente as zonas do país que mais contribuem para a área. Nesta secção figurará ainda uma menção ao tipo de texto com que trabalhei ao longo do meu estágio e também o trabalho desenvolvido ao longo do mesmo. Na terceira secção mencionar-se-ão os autores e as teorias que guiaram o meu trabalho, e dos quais destaco Hans J. Vermeer e Katharina Reiss, nomeadamente a Skopostheorie de Hans Vermeer e a classificação textual de Katharina Reiss, que nortearam o trabalho que viria a desenvolver ao longo dos três meses do meu estágio. A quarta secção dirá respeito à problemática da tradução para uma língua não-materna, na qual se referenciam alguns autores e as suas correntes de pensamento, e de que forma tais trabalhos afetaram, até certo ponto, o meu trabalho e a sua execução. A quinta secção será a mais extensa e é nela que se expõem os casos práticos que mais problemas me deram. Mencionar-se-ão alguns excertos textuais e também a forma encontrada para ultrapassar esses mesmos problemas. A sexta e última secção diz respeito à conclusão e irá focar-se nos aspetos positivos e negativos do meu estágio e no que poderá ser feito no futuro, pelos órgãos públicos e não só, para agilizar as tarefas dos tradutores estagiários.

The purpose of this report is to present the work developed in the scope of the curricular internship of the Master's in Translation of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra, carried out in the Office of Tourism and Development of the Figueira da Foz City Council. The first section of this report is dedicated to the presentation of the entity where I performed my internship and the characteristics of the work I developed. The second section will be dedicated to the concept of Tourism and a brief mention of the statistics of Tourism in Portugal, where I will identify, very briefly, the geographical areas of the country that most contribute to these statistics. In this section I will also mention the type of text I have worked with during my internship, the touristic text. In the third section I will mention the authors and the theories that guided my work, including Hans J. Vermeer and Katharina Reiss, namely Vermeer's Skopostheorie and Katharina Reiss' text types, which guided the work that would be performed over the three months of my internship. The fourth section will deal with the problem of translating into a non-mother tongue, in which I will point some authors and refer to their currents of thought, and how these works have affected, to some extent, my work and its execution. The fifth section will be the most extensive and will contain the practical cases that have given me the most problems. Some problematic excerpts will be mentioned and also the solution found to overcome those very same problems. The sixth and last section pertains to the conclusion and will focus on the positive and negative aspects of my internship, and what can be done in the future, by public organisms, in order to expedite the tasks of trainee translators.
