Partir, Regressar e Investir: Uma abordagem didática sobre a emigração no século XIX português

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio do Mestrado em Ensino de História no 3º ciclo do Ensino Básico e no Ensino Secundário pretende refletir sobre a prática pedagógica no ano letivo de 2016/2017, no Colégio Bissaya Barreto, em Coimbra. De acordo com o programa e as metas curriculares do 8º ano de escolaridade, optou-se por abordar a temática da emigração portuguesa no século XIX, em especial a questão dos Brasileiros, quanto ao seu papel local e social. Tendo em conta o panorama nacional Oitocentista, recorreu-se a um exemplo particular do Norte do país, a família Oliveira Santos, natural, que foi, de S. Vicente de Pereira, Ovar. Se um professor se caracteriza pela sua capacidade de ultrapassar desafios, da mesma forma que os deve colocar, o presente estudo oferece uma abordagem diferente perante a temática em estudo, recorrendo ao jogo presente vs passado, partindo do sentido e da mensagem de imagens, que visa demonstrar e incutir ao aluno a capacidade de refletir sobre as dinâmicas sociais e o seu impacto na sociedade ao longo dos tempos, de modo que compreendam o fluxo migratório como reflexo do seu tempo, dotado de características e expressões próprias. Assumindo-se, o brasileiro, como uma personagem bastante característica, que contempla uma personalidade própria, apresentamos um jogo digital que tenciona levar os alunos a posicionarem-se na época e a traçarem o caminho para uma emigração bem-sucedida, da mesma forma que lhes permite recordar e consolidar conhecimentos. Nesta vertente encontra-se ainda presente as preocupações com as questões do património material, nomeadamente com os princípios emergentes da arqueologia industrial, com o intuito de levar os alunos à sensibilização do espaço e a projetos de preservação e divulgação do mesmo.

The current report, regarding the internship of the Teaching Master’s Degree, regarding the Basic and High School levels, pretends to provide insight about the pedagogical practices for the school year of 2016/2017, at the Colégio Bissaya Barreto in Coimbra. As requested by the program and goals set for the 8th grade, we decided to choose, as a working field, the “Portuguese Emmigration of the XIX century, with special attention regarding the Brasileiros, and their role, both social and local”. Taking on the XVIII portuguese social scene, we decided to investigate a particular case-study, about the Oliveira Santos family, that used to live in S. Vicente de Pereira, Ovar. If a teacher is characterized by his/her ability of overcoming every chalenge, the same must be said for his/her way of adressing new ones. This study offers a new approach to the above-said field of studies, confronting the present and the past, from the perspective and meaning of certain images. The main goal is to induce, in the students, the ability to understand social dynamics and their impact on society throughout the years, as well as to aprehend the migration waves as a sign of their times, with their own personal aspects. Taking, the Brasileiro, as a very peculiar character, we offer a digital game, that will allow the students to better understand the epoch, in a way that allows a better consolidation of their knowledge. In this section there are also concerns about material heritage issues, in particular the emerging principles of industrial archeology, with the aim of bringing students to the sensibilization of space and projects for preservation and dissemination of the same.
